According to Richard Cawley of the SLP, midfielder Alan McCormack has turned down a move to Dagenham & Redbridge.

I hope Cawleys got it wrong, we need this guy outta here ! Chris Powell is gonna have to tell him he has no future at The Valley, otherwise he'll just hang around taking the money.

Hopefully he will find someone else to have him

Shouldn't think wages will be an issue but as he's not on the tour you can only assume he is "persona non grata" in Powell's mind

    (think that's right !!!)

Yeah, think Powell's told him his future is elsewhere...can't blame him for sticking around on League One wages rather than switching to League Two, especially if he thinks he can get a League One club. Can't see us standing in his way or asking for any money for him if someone comes knocking.

He turned the move to D&R down because he didn't want to drop into L2 but it is even debatable if he IS L2 standard? I've seen a lot better players in the BSP than McOx

He's used to playing L1, therefore he wants L1, and he's on L1 salary. In his position, what would you do (if you had his... err... talent)?

he was part of a Southend team relegated from League One and helped drag us down to a 13th place finish not sure this is League One standard

lets hope CP just terminates his contract

I'd stay if I was him, lazy maybe, but you've got to look after number 1.

It's not his responsibility to look after rob Elliot....

Im sure some other club will come in- we wasn't his only option when he left Southend, and I guess the figure we want is nowhere near the 100k mark.

    bomb him out.

he`d be one i think it would be worth to pay all his remaning wages, plus 50% increase, in one lump sum ... just to get him away from the unit. clearly toxic. these kinda players you dont need because their attitude reeks the place out and affects others. sometimes really talented players are not worth because of their attitude. this idiot doesnt even have any talent to make a small excuse

when he came from southend, i was talking about him to a Shrimper. view was, "keep him out the pub and you have half a chance, but really...he is not anything special". so even in a team relegated, he was unable to stand out in terms off quality and yet he was still feeling to mess around. he should be so personally embarassed that he should want to keep his head down.

i dont want him sulking around affecting morale and spreading his vibe.

It's in his best intrest to go, there is no place in the squad now, and if he hangs around he'll have wasted a year playing the odd cup game, no league one side would them throw him in there starting 11, even if he was free, and he'll end up in league 2 anyway (or lower!)

He can't be on that much a week, 2-3k a week?

Can't we have a wip round and pay him our selves to do anything but play for charlton?

I am happy to give 50 quid a week for him to do my cleaning!

To be honest, I always think that if a player really does rate themselves, they wouldn't mind dropping down a league, because they know their talent will stand out and they'll be snapped up back to the higher leagues anyway. However I see no talent in McCormack so that's a bit redundant, so probably just holding on for the higher wages/being able to play in a higher league.

I think he'd be an alright signing for somebody like Yeovil if he's to stay in this league.

As much as I want him out, maybe he is staying for footballing reasons. Maybe he does rate himself that high that he thinks he can fight for his place? Depends if CP says to him you wont figure in my plans, or whether the club accepted the offer as it matched their valuation?

But I would donate £50 a month to get rid of him ;)

i can envisage is doing a bit of chugging round the valley

"excuse me sir, can you donate 2.99 a month to help starving children in Africa...no??...what about 50 for alan mcormack disposal fund?"

think the take up will be high

contrast him with jason euell...loved jase`s attitude in his interview on CAFC player. well done that man...id happily give him 3K a week out of our playing budget, and i think he would take it as it seems he is after prolonging his career...didnt seem he just needed the cash. it would be worth every penny.

I think/hope a deal will be done with Euell. Doncaster rated him in the Championship, plus he is versatile.

Sign him up CP- keep the feel good factor going!

Or at least offer him a Play-As-You Play deal... or six month short term deal, like we had with Stewart. Euell that is, not McCormack. He should just leave. Why on earth would he stick around, all he'll get is boo'd every time he's on, or got the ball.

I'd definitely take euell, wouldn't be bad for all the young'uns to have him around.
