He went down just before half time and then again after halftime - might have gone fully second time - has been known for some people to not know that it's happened till later on.

Regardless, horrific injury at the start of his career. Same for that lad Aarons at Newcastle.

I blame Moyes for this. As RTB said the lad went down after 20 odd minutes, just before and after half time and still Moysy left him on. Anybody with half a f*cking braincell could see he was injured. Maybe if he had been taken off earlier this may not have been as bad.

If he's played on for 20 mins, he's probably torn it initially and gone on to make it worse, snapping it completely. Adrenaline can often be the worst thing for a fresh injury.

He's a coach not a medic, he'll have based his decision on physio advice and the player's feedback give to said physio as Moyes couldn't exactly run onto the pitch speak to the lad and diagnose him himself. It's the way the game works. Blame anyone blame Peter Brand and the player. It was clear as day he hurt himself in the first injury, what is not clear as day is how bad that initial injury was or how it was translated from player to physio to manager.

Just another excuse to bash the manager imo without having an actual clue whether he was actually to blame or not.

Wish the lad a speedy recovery. Get the point you make Bri; we thought he would come off at half time as Gooch went through a pretty rigorous warm up but the lad must have said he felt OK. On the other side of the coin though didn't think he contributed much second half and was ball watching a lot when defending so personally would have taken him off for that - easy from the stands though. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Poyet had the same problem with Catts when he played down a knee injury and we ended up losing him for a stretch. It happens. Often I bet. Everything points to that conversation between McNair and Brand for me like.

Nobody is probably to blame, if it's a tear and you've got lactic acid running through muscle, adrenaline pumping, it's quite possible to feel fine, combat sports rely heavily on this. McNair probably thought he'd run it off, a little knock or whatever, then minutes later a tear turns into a rupture and it's time for Netflix for the next 10 months.

I heard the power cut was also his fault as he hadn't topped the meter up.

I've absolutely nothing against the manager. I'm one of them who wants him to be given a chance but ultimately he's the man at the top and the buck stops with him. Us mere fans in the stand could see he was injured. Bad management imo.

Watching on screen you could see he had an injury. But for all I knew, it was just the process of running it off. Players often look ropey following an injury they're playing on with. Moyes will have being going off the advice of the medical professional who examined him and he'll have come to an assessment from what the player told him(what with the only way to diagnose the injury being a scan). Nah I don't blame Moyes for it one bit. He'll have gone by the book imo. We'll have to agree to disagree on this one fella. I don't blame anyone, at a push McNair, he should have been more transparent, but then, the lad will have just been desperate to contribute and play a part. Hopefully he'll learn to listen to his body next time and not take the risk. Missing the rest of the game and a few that follows is better than losing your entire season and possibly career.

There's no way you can lay the full blame at Moyes' feet IMO.

If a player thinks they're good to continue then you take their word for it. Hardly Moyes fault the lads cruciate snapped 15 mins later.

I accept all you say about Mcnair and obviously I hope he makes a full 'recovery but to me he should have been took off at half time at the latest.
Like you say we will agree to disagree..
