Forest boss Steve McClaren has resigned. Just waiting to see what position JA feels we should offer him !
Out with Powell and in with an experienced manager! Points thrown away against S****horpe, the Owls and the Franchise. Not good enough! Just joking. I see the dreaded "Chairman's Vote of Confidence" worked its magic again!
CA and Martinho - brilliant You have to worry about this bloke's judgement. When Billy Davies complained long and loud that Forest needed more players to be a credible force, he was completely ignored. Why should McClaren be surprised that he's had the same response? At least he had the dignity to quit of his own volition, but if it wasn't before, IMO it leaves his credibility shot to hell.
And while you're checking out the McClaren story, have a look at the 'halfway-line header' clip at the same time - absolutely astonishing. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/default.stm
We all like to poke fun at McClaren, but he resigned voluntarily and won't try to claim a penny from the rest of his contract. How many other managers would behave that honorably? Come to that, how many of us would?
It's hardly his fault either, the board stiffed him, they promised him funds and a tidy squad, then sold all of their best players, and made him sign some ****e.
Davies was an unbelievable whinger. McClaren slightly less so. They're losing Doughty too, which is a far more significant piece of news imo. Wonder who'll bankroll them now On the plus side for them, they might finally get a manager who doesn't play the fans against the board.
I said this weeks ago - McClaren to get the sack, or resign, and Forest to take Jackett from Millwall.
Forest confuse me- both managers say they need significant investment, but looking at their squad it seems they should be able to be in that top 6. Am I missing something?
I think Billy Davies did a good job with the players at his disposal. As for McClaren: he is complete and utter poop.
At the time we sacked Super Pards Forest were in the same trouble as us - They hired Davies, stayed up and then continuously challenged for promotion. Davies is very very talented - He was my choice after Curbs...
at least the chairman did the honourable thing to stand down after admitting to such a rickett in appointing McClaren Murray post-Dowie still went through 3 more bad appointments, 2 relegations and the club on the verge of administration hopefully this season we can get back to the Championship after the Murray board little more than surrendered our place in the Championship last time with the "Strategic Review" - planning for League One football in November and only 3 points in the relegation zone.
McClaren confuses me, good at Boro, poor at England, Great at Twente, poor at wolfsburg and Forrest, he has ability just he's really hit and miss when he uses it, same as Pardew, as much as he moan about him, he's done well with Reading, West Ham and at the looks of it so far Newcastle,
