As I'm based in the other side of the planet I only get to watch highlights online etc, so can someone enlighten me?

Is Maynard just not getting the service he needs, or has he just given up?

He seemed to die a death at the end, last 7/8 games of last season..not really recovered, would like to see him and Clarkie together, with ADDY and JCR on the wings...

Very static today or just made runs that noone was ever going to be able to pick out. Really don't see how he offers anything more than Pitman does atm, Brett looked so much more alert and was more involved in the 15mins he was on that Nicky was in the whole game. Nicky also should've been sent off for a bad challenge on Davies imo, studded the guy in the knee ffs.

Do you think he's started to believe his own hype and thinks he can just show up, claim his place and walk away with a tidy monthly salary regardless of performance?

Or do you think its down to low confidence levels? He seems like a very self-assured, slightly cocky, alpha-male type so perhaps his ego needs to be massaged to get the best out of him?

Trouble is he makes runs which are decent runs the other players are just not intelligent enough to pick him out when he goes early. Plus defenders also double up on him something which is also happening with Adomah. We are too predictable to play against. We should be a brilliant counter attacking side a bit like Spurs with the pace up front and on the wings but each attack is predictable - get the ball wide but not nearly quickly enough and send in a cross when there's usually a 2 v 4 situation in the box. Our central midfielders need to be attacking the box every time adomah and JCR have it wide but they don't except for the rare venture by Marv

i wouldn't say marvs runs are "rare" if anything hes more of a threat than all of our strikers atm

Just playing devil's advocate but personally Marv's runs are very frustrating, he wins a lot of the ball but his technique is too bad to do anything with it. He wins a lot of headers, don't get me wrong, but more often than not he'll miss the intended target, be it the goal or a player. Also our strikers would be a lot more dangerous if him or Kilkenny could actually play a decent through ball once in a while. Unfortunately we don't have anyone other than Cisse to come in and Kilkenny needs replacing more urgently..

Maynard's at his best playing on the sholder of the last defender - service to him has been non-existent.
He's lacking a bit of confidence - a goal will change all that.
We must not confuse lack of form with lack of effort (I do get frustrated with people saying he's not trying).
The boy's still got it - mark my words!

    OneFor is spot on.

Form is temporary - Class is permanent.

We need some quality in midfield, and in defence, and i think DM has already sussed that out, we know how good a goalscorer NM is, he's got nothing to prove in that department, its the other departments we are lacking, until thats sorted we are staying at the bottom.
