http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/18062011/63/city-hands-nicky.html The hard truth or just trying to scare us off? Seems quite a risky statement if it's the latter... I hope we are still going to bid and bid big, the owners don't prove their ambition by putting up Big screens and electronic advertising boards, the prove it by forking our for good players. We've probably lost out on Yakubu and we need a replacement for him, I'm afraid Nugent and Derbyshire won't be enough. If we don't really go for this I'll be very disappointed. Thoughts?
Meh - Just a re-hashed statement - There will be a bid made this weekend according to the LM - I don't doubt it will be rejected, that's how the game is played - They'll sell for a bit more than we want to pay and a bit less than they want
Its not up to Bristol. If Nicky Maynard wants to join us and we pay the fee then he will sign for us. You cant say that you arent going to sell him to another championship club
http://www.thisisleicestershire.co....City-striker/story-12795158-detail/story.html We already knew this. This offer I'm sure will be turned down but I hope it's a case of upping it after every denial until we reach the acceptable price. In other words, we do have the money but we're trying to get him for as cheap as possible. I think £3.5-£4 mil might be enough. That's not over the odds for a youngish player who's got lots of potential.
You won't be having him look else where foxes according to the club he Will sign his new contract with us and we ain't selling to a championship club so your are out the equation. The only place nicky will go is to the prem.our chairman steve landsdown who incidental is in the top fourty richest people in the country as said nicky is going no where.
Robbins say they have had no bids for maynard & that they are hoping he signs a new deal ? this came from sky sports LCFC page. Tbh I´m hoping for bigger signings to help us push for the premiership although having said that Maynard is a good championship player. I´m thinking the management are back from their hols now so I guess things will start to happen ref transfers... I just hope we (the fans) are satisfied as to what we get ???
Red Robin If Mynard wants to leave then he will leave. We will be waiting! You're going neither up or down so it's a dead end for him at Bristol. We've got a good chance of going up so why wouldn't he come here? Prem won't take him, the best have already been snapped up by the minnows so it's Bristol or another Championship club for Mayard this year.
delusions of grandeur................know your place....if we want him we shall have him... take it and like it...your lower down on the food chain....live with it...... personally im not convinced by this crock... mind you if yakubu can pass a medical at LCFC anything is possible.............
An ex England manager failure and you think you are prem class, flash the cash and make your offer,£5m plus and you are 3rd in line for consideration, give us a small fry offer then no chance, but Leicester City are a good people,so no offence intended.. http://www.thisisbristol.co.uk/Stri...Bristol-City/story-12794140-detail/story.html
If Maynard wants to leave it wouldn't suprise me at all if QPR came in for him. You guys are not a massively bigger club than us, if we want £5m, you pay £5m or you don't get him. With the right signings we'll be looking at the play offs this season. As you say if it's a choice between us or another championship club, why would he leave? He scored 21 goals for us two seasons back, more than £35m Andy Carrol did in the same season with best team by a mile. Unless you pay us a fortune for him we'll keep him and hope he can score enough to get us to the play offs again.
What up with the Bristol fans. We are alot bigger then them. How many season have they spent in the prem and when was the last time they won anything
Jambo - In fairness neither Proud Fox or I can influence Leicester Signing Maynard, anymore than you can influence Bristol City into keeping him. But I do see the game being played here, it's a cat and mouse tactic to see whose nerve cracks first. I'd stick 50p on him joining us but probably not much more, time will tell
Last season a lot of our signings spoke of how big a pull factor Sven was. I wonder if that could influence Maynard in any way.
Carroll had played in the Prem before he signed for Liverpool. That makes a huge difference to the price. We'll just see what happens, you seem to think we are like any other Championship Club when in truth, we have more money than over half the Premier League sides. And we have a much better chance than you of going up this season. If we choose to spend big on Maynard we will, and you may be tempted. I wouldn't be so confident.
