who says Velcro is not up to this level and is a mistake? I haven't seen enough of him to form an opinion yet but surely MM is building a squad and not just looking for 'first name on the sheet' players.

We'll never know because he didnt have the cash but Naylor? Bywater? Jet? JLS?...not to mention Ledley and Mathews?.... just my opinion but not the best moves I've ever seen.

Each to their own though iggy. I just think its too early to be slating anyone... <ok>

We will never know about DJ! but to point out those transfers is a bit decieving "Naylor? Bywater? Jet? JLS?"

He didnt have the money to spend so had to do what he could to get cover for positions and imo did well i would rather these players then have no players and be like Porthmouth was struggling to name a full bench! Dave Jones OVER achieved with the budget we had end of!! Bywater he had no choice - Heaton and Marshall both injured we had no other keeper besides Santiago.

Dont get me wrong i think he messed up with Ledley and should of sold him when stoke came in for him! and handled the Mathews situation totally wrong and personally when i watched him from stands he annoyed me constantly holding his chin with no passion for the team!!! This is where MM has excelled in you can see his desire for the team to preform for us fans!!!

I think both DJ and MM have their pros and cons.

As much as i find it fustraiting watching malky stick to the same faultering tactic (route 1) each week i cannot knock the energy he pulls out of his players and his transfer targets this transfer window have been mouth watering.

Imo DJ had the better tactics (sometimes maginally) however he didnt get the same consistant amount of effort from the team that malky does and that cost DJ a lot of points.

Overall only a few games have been played, and with the new attacking options brought in im just hoping his tactics will reflect that offensive nature (which would be playing to our current strengths)

    Lateboy,
Just to point out Im not having a go at DJ....never have (...or iggys opinion).
DJ did what he could with the restrictions he had to work under. I was just pointing out that with the mentioned greater experience and contacts, I cant believe there weren't better available than the 4 mentioned....and definately no amount of persuasion or money could convince me that Bywater is any more than a useless donkey :D

Anyway, thats all in the past and the future starts at 2pm tomorrow <ok>
