Why the hell did Pearson sell Gradel, shocking decision Gradel v Dyer or Gallagher no contest really. Pearson
Missing a pen didn't do my fantasy football team any good though.... Yeh I wish we had him, but we've got to move on. Why moan about Pearson at this stage when Sven's had all this money to spend and has been here 10 months, shouldn't he have bought a quality winger by now?
I got rid of Stockdale Emilio - you should do the same! Is this stuff about Gradel serious or some subtle ploy to wind the Leeds fans up? I really thought he was to light-weight for this division - can't say I'm too disappointed he's no longer with us. He may well have improved for all I know - I'm certainly not in the habit of watching Leeds - but they do have a habit of trumping up every player currently at the club and slating every one of their former players that have gone elsewhere.
Gradel is quality player but a liability aswell. If Leeds fans think Kasper has temper tantrums they need to watch Gradel. He is a little baby at times
Max Gradel is everything that the Dyers and Gallaghers of this world are not. He is quick both with the ball and without, he is direct, he can actually beat his man and deliver a cross, he supports the front man well from the opposite side, he scores goals, and he works back tackles well (although sometimes reckless). Its not really a dig at Nigel although the money these guys get paid they should be able spot potential. Sven and his millions don’t get started on that one!
I don't think I can, I've already made 3 transfers this month Gradel is definitely a quality player and exactly what we're missing, people forget that he was going through a difficult personal time in that league 1 season, so he was unlikely to fulfill his potential then. He does have an attitude problem, but he also has lighting pace, trickery, a good cross and goalscoring. In short he has undoubtedly improved quite a lot since he left us.
presumably based on what you've seen at him at Leicester... he's grown up a lot since he was with you. We almost missed out on promotion because of one of his temper tantrums, and that burned deep into his mind. He has grown up and matured as a player and as far as we can all tell, it's a thing of the past. He got sent off the other day for absolutely nothing and didn't argue or lose his temper or anything.
To be fair he went straight through that guy from behind. Of course he isn't going to complain. It was a clear booking.
That referee was handing out yellows like they were going out of fashion, though. Odds are his first booking wasn't a booking, although due to funding I wasn't able to attend the match so I didn't see it. The highlights didn't show the first booking. If you think you had a terrible ref yesterday, ours against boro would give him a run for his money.
A rarity due to stress. Schmeichel does it every time he concedes. Or nearly concedes. Or makes a mistake. Or if someone else gives away a penalty. Btw he concedes a lot
But players are expected to keep their heads and keep focused. Getting angry breaks your focus and affects your performance - Schmeichel appears to have a bit of an issue with this. Gradel, however - I've seen him grab the ball out of the net and take it back to the centre point while the rest of the Leeds team moped around, stunned - this act alone won us the game in the end. While yes, he does get a little worked up occasionally when a decision doesn't go his way (I haven't seen him get angry before the Southampton game since he got sent off against Bristol Rovers - and he played practically every game for us last season), he has generally calmed down and grown up a lot. Like unbelievable amounts. He's showing signs of improvement and wanting to improve. He's also an excellent human being, a real gentleman. He's appreciative of what people have to say to him and values he's team mates. Schmeichel has shown several times that he thinks he's above what a lot of people have to say and thinks he's better than a lot of people. He just is really arrogant.
Well, as I don't blame him for what happened against Forest, I hope he takes this opportunity to sort this. I have seen him thumping the ground and the like, which does show a bit of passion, but when you've got fastidious refs like this, it's not worth the risk. If anyone can calm Kasper down, then Sven's the man!
I'll agree it seems just like passion at first but it'll wear you out eventually. You'll get sick of it after a while, the screaming at the defence and making stupid hand gestures that noone knows what they mean or even if what he's signalling would be beneficial. The aggression at conceding a goal is - although understandable - not really ideal. Goalkeepers are supposed to have good leadership qualities, and staying calm and composed is a biggy. One of the reasons we like Lonergan so much more is because he stays calm at all times. It also helps that he's freaking amazing - as good a shot stopper as Schmeichel and more of a presence. He handles crosses far better as well.
