How does a guy who played several PL games in 09/10 and plenty of Championship games last season have to go on trial at Rochdale?

Credit to Matt Duke as a pro for doing it but he shouldn't have to.

I'm surprised he's had to trial, surely he's got enough experience for a club to just take him. Ok he's not the best keeper but I still think he is Championship/league 1 standard.

i would agree with that. I thought he was bound for sheffield utd especially as his whole family are blades fans. ? then again rochdale are league one and finished quite
high up last season. he should get that gig for sure. with cooper @ huddersfield and cullen @ bury i may well take in some league games when city fixtures allow.

Huddersfield v. Bury on saturday 6th august looks a good bet for starters. :emoticon-0112-wonde

You could say the same about Basso having a trial with us only to be (probably) number 2.
