Seems to have gone very quiet regarding Mats Moller Daehli. Does anyone have any news?

Not on official site yet, but is confirmed on what appears to be the official facebook page:

Edit: It took all my mettle not to give both barrells to a number of dribbling, mouth breathing ******s that graced us with their thoughts on the comments bit.

I hope we're not relying on an eighteen year old from Norwegian football to keep us in the Premier League.

Well Whitts wont keep us up and he`s a lot older. Rooney was doing ok at 17 so there is no reason to suppose an older player will be better than a young one otherwise everyone would have all old guys playing don`t you think? Have you seen this player yet?

There was talk the delay was because utd wanted to use their first refusal option on him.

I know Moyes is a bit of a muppet and theyre not at their best but he must have something about him.

We could have done with someone with the vision for the right pass today, he's apparently in the David silva, nasri type mould. He'll certainly add another dimension to our options if that is the case.

I hope we have signed a young lad who is as good as Rooney.

I agree, I don't think Whitts will keep us up. Nor will the most of the rest of the current squad.

My point was that we need to sign some proven ability.

Think MM spent the proven ability budget on Cornelius, Brayford and Odem.

I hope we sign Diouf, I can't believe there'll be many better options for £2.5m.

We need a decent striker. We sign two more midfielders.

Well whoever we get will need to show some class right away. The season is halfway through now and we are in a relegation battle we did not want but we are not the only team, it is very tight still.

We might get an unexpected win in the next two games and that would cheer us all up.

Lets hope it's an Ole future and not a Malky future, malkys idea of one for the future would seem to mean a couple of years from what I've seen.

He's not played much at a high competitive level but has a very high pass completion rate.

With this in mind and having seen how we played yesterday and what Eikrem did when he came on - good control and completed most passes while also looking to shoot when getting forward - I think we have a vision of how Ole wants us to play and the days of lumping the ball forwards are numbered.

Some patience will be needed by us. Too many sat around me were screaming for us to shoot from ridiculous distances and angles yesterday. They also paid little regard to how their players were closing down and blocking potential shots. Look at the number of shots we took where their defenders got in partial blocks with the ball deflected to their keeper for easy saves.

    True.

The fact is though our players were not good enough to create the chances against a rubbish team.

We were far better when Bellamy replaced Odemwingie.

I think id play Medel at centre half , Eikrem in and Mutch in for Whittingham and Bellamy for Odemwingie.

Depends who we're playing for Medel to be at cb. It would be important for him not to be isolated against a big striker although he won 2 or 3 headers to clear from corners yesterday. He has a good spring in his heels for a little guy and is very good at organising those around him.

No argument against the other selections. be interesting to see where Daehli fits in.

Apparently he plays central or out wide. With regard where he fits in, we keep saying its a squad game. We suffered against Sunderland when we started making changes. Daehli or Eikrem off the bench (or whitts on for one of Medel, Mutch or Eikrem - my starting midfield 3) would maintain the performance rather than see it dip.
