Here we go then, the first NLD of the season. who will win? Line ups: Arsenal --------------Szczesny-------------- --Sagna--Mertesacker--Song--Gibbs-- ---------------Coquelin-------------- --------Ramsey-------Arteta--------- -Walcott-------v.Persie-----Gervinho- Subs: Fabianski, Jenkinson, Santos, Frimpong, Benayoun, Arshavin, Park. Spurs ----------------Friedel----------------- --Walker--Kaboul--King--Assou-Ekotto-- ---v.d.Vaart---Modric---Parker---Bale--- ----------Defoe-----Adebayor----------
Coquelin instead of Frimpong? Ramsey has been rubbish so far ... we need experience...bring on Benayoun instead!
Well looks to me as if it could be the Alamo again. I hope I'm wrong but I don't see us dealing with the Spurs attack. Ade can go past Mertesecker & with Bale & Defoe pace I am not hopeful. Please let me be proved wrong or this could put us back to square one.
Sagna can deal with Bale when he's on the left, but when Bale goes to the right, I think Gibbs might struggle. The same could be said for van der Vaart, but he will drift into the middle more and has less pace. Mertesacker can deal with Ade's strength and height and Song can deal with Defoe's pace (alex is quite fast you know), but we really need Ramsey and Arteta to help out Coquelin vs Modric. Parker won't be too much of a problem I think.
From an outsiders point of view - Is Frimpong reliable enough to play in NLD considering he can be quite rash in the tackle. I have been very impressed with the lad from what I've seen, except his temperament (which will improve in time). I feel the risk of him getting sent off may prove to be a good choice by Wenger.
Coquellin is having a blinder in the first few mins.. tremendous pickups and tackles.. whereas Aaron is pants. perhaps he took it for granted (automatic selection) after Cesc left you..
It's been alright so far. Wish I could be there, but my cash flow doesn't allow it nowadays, a shame really. Then again, maybe not being at a possible defeat is a good thing. 1-0 down is better than I expected, the pessisimist I am.
