thought I better post something because no one else has- it will be brief.

As it was the annual armed forces match I had the privilege of watching from the Directors' box. A great view of the pitch from slightly higher up than I normally am in the Lyndhurst. A good game of football by two sides who tried to play and I thought we were unlucky to lose. First half was fairly cagey with both sides cancelling each other out. Connor came very close when through on goal but their keeper pulled off a quality save- they missed an equally good chance when the shot was wide with only Jake to beat, but to be honest Jake spread himself and probably put their player off.

second half was much of the same, we hit both posts and they scored 2 goals. The first followed a defenders slip and the second bounced off the post and went in off jake's back.

Such are the margins between winning and losing.

No major harm done as if we win our game in hand we will still be up to 7th. 8000+ there today so still feeling positive.

I thought today was worth a nailed on draw between these two. The possession was with Scunny in both halfs of the match but the chances were with Argyle. How on earth they lost this one I will never know because there is no way that either side deserved to. Scunny are probably the best passing/footballing side I've seen this season and Argyle matched them in all departments. The only thing missing was a goal from the greens and they were unlucky several times. As Lyndhurst says the margins between winning/drawing/losing in games like this are very small indeed.

I'm not too put out at this result if honest. We were as good as they were without the result going our way. We didn't lose any ground as such and it is still all to play for. The maddening part was that I have seen Argyle play 75% worse than today and come away with a point.

The consensus seemed to be saying that this was a good game of football to watch and worthy of a higher league.

Disappointing that we didn't get anything from it then, worthy of at least a point from what I have read.

Scu*thorpe have had a good run since their last defeat, now 21 games unbeaten, they have drawn 17 league games this season it is just unfortunate that we where not the 18th.

I expect good teams make their own luck to keep such a run going.

It makes the Chesterfield game even more important.....we must not lose that one.

I'm not sure why Sheridan has stopped playing Wotton....is it because he hasn't got the legs for too many consecutive games....it's a shame if that is so because he brought a discipline to the team which seemed to release others into a more positive roll.

With Banton fit again Sheridan obviously didn't want to risk him upsetting the balance of the team.....once he had played his three subs....and we went behind, a goal was needed..... in hindsight Banton might of come good in such a situation.....he needs to score to build his confidence and then he might take off again....at the moment he has been disappointing.

A little cameo from the Morecombe game Plymborn. Argyle defending a corner at the Demport End in the 2nd half - ball is headed out and drops to Wotton at the edge of the box. Morecombe are pushing for a goal (probably still 2-0 at that stage) so there are only a couple of defenders between Wotton and the Barn Park End goal. He legs it towards the other end but by the time he gets into the centre circle he's slowing after an hour's play and turns to lay it off.

Now don't get me wrong, you could see Wotton "encouraging" and organising all over the pitch and you could hear him yelling over the crowd noise most of the time so he contributes more than just what he does with the ball. However, Blizzard is a big strong lad too and Wotton is strictly a 60 minute per game, 15 game a season option now. Good luck to him, I am delighted he's going to end his playing career in a Green shirt, which is what he's made for.

PS Alessandro has being playing so well as 2nd striker, Banton shouldn't get a game whilst that persists. Nobody has a God-given right to play....

So Wotton needs to be used sparingly....maybe to start a difficult game.....or to come on to help protect a lead.....that is where a wise manager earns his crust.....I think Sheridan is up to that task.....and the manager needs to help the players grind out enough points to get into the play-offs.....once there anything can happen.

What a change it is to be looking up instead of looking down the league table.....if we don't go up....Sheridan needs to hang on to the players he trusts and bring in those that can push us on......hello Mr Brent did you hear that.
