    Welcome Lads and Lasses.

After the international break, it's here, Arsenal v Sunderland.

Two teams, not in the best of form, two managers under a bit of pressure from some.

    Something has to give.

Let's have your predictions, formations, views, or general thoughts on todays event.

Will it be the Gunners kickstart to their season, and will they discover the form, that makes them into one of the best teams to watch, with free-flowing football.

Or will the Black Cats stifle them, and come away with a win, or a point.

    Will Bruce's tactics overcome Wengers?

Let's hope for a good game.

All the pressure is on Arsenal, yes we want a result but everyone expects us to lose and it wont get Bruce the sack. I have a sneaky feeling we will ruff them up from the kick off, get in their faces and if we have that bit of luck we could sneak a goal. Do that and the crowd could turn and get on the players backs.

In the summer most of us were happy with the new players, well maybe today they could click and show the form they are more than capable of.

We know the back 4 its down to up front, do we sick Vaughan in midfield and leave Sess up front or stick with the same team and simply replace Bendy with Ji or Wickham, I honestly dont know.

Problem is, Arsenal will be saying the same.

I don't think we have a hope in hells chance of winning.

If we play the best we have this season and they play badly we may get a draw.

Honestly? I think we will get stuffed.

It may not be what most on here want to read but I can't help that. I think we look shot to pieces as a club and the emirates isn't the place we will be resurrecting our season. This game may not see the back of Bruce but it will be yet another nail in his coffin. Up front today we will be as weak as in anytime in the last 30 years. Sessegnon, Wickham or Ji are simply not going to scare even this weakened Arsenal defence.

How many more nails this manager can take will depend on the severity of the scoreline and the outcomes of the next 2 games after this one.

Score today? 3-0 to the Wenger boys I'm afraid.

Same tactics every game? Stubborn to the point of actually damaging the club? Predictable ****e week after week? Are we talking about the same man? Steve Bruce.

Arsenal will win today. Of that I have not one doubt.

This could be either sublime or rediculous, im hoping either a 1-1/2-1 to us, however my head says more than likely a heavy heavy defeat, could all depend really on if we concede within the 1st 20mins.

This sums it up pretty well for me! .... I'd be amazed if me managed to get anything from this match. Pressures on Brucie!

Don't worry, there's plenty of pessimistic Gooners on our board to cheer you up.
They'll be saying that we'll lose, cue cries of Wenger out, Feed Gazidis to the Lions etc etc.

Great being a fan isn't it?

So a draw will suit all then?

    We'll take that.

I know it will be hard and there is every possibility we will lose, just cant see the point in giving up before we start.

Couldnt agree more. I cant see us getting owt from this game, the more annoying thing is, that Mr Short has already re iterated that Bruces job is safe regardless of the result...for crying out loud, how long has this got to go on for ???. We need to get a new manager in NOW because as sure as my arse faces south we are in a bloody relegation fight now !!

Arsenal are obviously hot favourites today, but we can always live in hope of causing an upset...As Jimmy Greaves once said " It's a funny old game"

I think you guys may well get a draw today, but you'll have to play brilliantly and Arsenal continue their form.

Here's to hoping the NE beats North London today...:emoticon-0150-hands

We don't have any wingers mate. No pace in midfield and no strikers (without Bendtner who I cant quite work out why he cant play alongside RVP as he is a very good footballer imo).

Wickham, Ji and Sessegnon couldn't score in a brothel with £20 notes stuck to their bell ends and our midfield will consist of Larsson played on the left (out of position), Mohammady on the right (this bloke would give headless chickens a bad name) and probably the liability that is Cattermole and Vaughan (best midfielder we have) in the centre.

In defence, O Shea, Brown and Turner are slower than a snail on sleeping pills and Richardson, although very quick on the ground, is slower than cold treacle between the ears as a full back. Our saving grace is that Brown has hit the ground running and is a terrific defender but O Shea looks totally unfit to me, having had no pre season at all and it shows tbh.

Oh and our keeper makes yours look like Peter Shilton. He is young, very nervous at times and is partial to the odd glaring error but is a good shot stopper.

Apart form that, we'll ****ing murder you today mate. Lol

Cestria: I don't think we have seen enough of Wickham and Ji to say that they can't score...

Hey, if it makes you all feel a whole lot better about our situation I'll make stuff up and give a really positive spin on things.

Bruce has at last got us going and defensively we look solid and unlikely to concede, which gives our mobile and fluid midfield the opportunity to carve huge holes in the Arsenal midfield and create chance after chance for the top quality forwards we will have on show today. The experience, pace and guile of the 2 front men for SAFC today, in Wickham and Ji, will be far too much for the rather fragile Arsenal back 4 and ****ers boys are in for a torrid afternoon imo.

Even if they do make it through our back 4, we have the keeper of the season to marshal his area and stop the threat.

On the bench, there are 7 top quality internationals raring to get on the pitch and all could change the game in an instance for us. What a relief it is to have such strength in depth.

Its 3 points for Brucie's boys and a pleasant trip home for the fans back to the NE tonight.

Saying it wont make it so but hey, if it makes you all feel better to indulge in some fantasy stuff, fill ya boots lads. Me? I'll stick to what I know to be true. We wont win the game today and only a herculean effort form our team coupled with a disastrous one from ****ers boys will result in us getting a point.

Its not pessimism Syd its called reality but if you see a victory then good on ya. I'd never quit my football team but just dont expect all of us to just agree on how you see it all the time. It gets a trifle irritating.
