Its here again but not many left with the present squad, today, Bolton and Man U at home then we look forward to seeing what a new season brings.

Its a funny day, cold and wet but with the potential to be warm and sunny, a what to wear day and I seem to always get those wrong.

I want the players to give their all but TBH, it has that end of season feel already so I hope a decent crowd and Wolves plight will get things going, another lack lustre defeat would be a right let down.

Today I plan a health kick extreme, like extreme sports, a drive thru Big Mack for lunch then into the Colliery Tavern but no alcohol because I am driving.

To those I see at the SoL, looking forward to it, to everyone else enjoy your day wherever and however you follow to boys.

WHEN Martin O'Neill watches his Sunderland side take on Wolves today, he will be reminded of the traumatic 24 hours that preceded his formal appointment as manager.

One glance at the Premier League table, however, and he will also be reminded of just how far his club has come.

Back in early December, O'Neill watched from the stands as Sunderland threw away a one-goal lead to slip to a 2-1 defeat at Molineux.

The following week, he was confirmed as Steve Bruce's successor and inherited a Black Cats team languishing in 17th place in the table, three points below Wolves.

Today, a remarkable 20 points separate the two clubs, with Sunderland, secure in 11th position, having lost just six of their 19 games under O'Neill. In the same period, Wolves, who could effectively be relegated this afternoon if other results go against them, have suffered 13 defeats.

Do you think there will be a decent size crowd there? They have been doing the £5 tickets.

I left for work while it was pissing down so if it brightens up im stuck with my duffle coat. Stuck doing my Sky business untill half 1 then Im off to the SOL. Our home record has been excellant since MON took over and im not expecting anything but a win today. I know Wolves should be fighting for their life, like they were last season when they came here, but I dont see it. It seems like there not putting much of a fight up TBH and I'm expecting 3 points. I know theres nothing for us really to be playing for with us safe this season, but I feel now should be the time for MON to crack the whip and make sure we beat the 10th last season and show ES that there is progress and this is a manager worth backing.

I know all about the five pound tickets, its funny how popular I am, os it that my season ticket, when these deals are on. Selling on the door, always a bad sign.

I'm expecting an easy 3 points after watching the Wolves lack of fight, I think they have accepted they are down.

I think Mick Mac would have got more of a fight out of them. He did last season and I would have thought he was in a better position to do it then his assistant
