Is he moving into Mata's shed? I love our players embracing the Chelsea spirit, but that's taking it too far surely!

So United have made a £35m bid for Mata. How times have changed! It would be utter madness to give him to united. Especially after being brick-walled for Rooney. I still can't believe that the board would be so blind and stupid as to allow this to happen. United are literally on their knees and yet they may well succeed in signing a world class player.

Well, will he **** read this but, thanks for everything Mata. One of the most special talents I've seen at the bridge. Good luck in the future, except against us.

Won't be any foaming at the mouth, threats or shirt burning as far as we're concerned <ok>

we have always been one of the best set of fans going for allowing players to move on, unlike some others !!

Have to say I'm livid at this. Jose has done about the only thing he could do to lose respect in the eyes of the fans. Obviously I don't speak for all Chelsea fans but this was not a smart move. How do we let united bully us over the Rooney transfer and yet just hand then one of our stars for, why I believe, is half the value of why it should have cost them. Well done boys we may have just handed united another title.

Why are you blaming the board when it has been made crystal clear that Jose has the final say?

Jose doesn't play him so should we sell and buy someone Jose wants or let 40m sit on the bench not helping us at all?

Why United? I actually think they don't need him. At #10 he pushes Rooney out wide where he is less effective. Of course he's a good player but United have more urgent needs than #10.

I agree, it will be heartbreaking to see him in a United shirt but I'm willing to trust the board/Jose in bringing someone of equal quality in either this month or in the summer.

If this goes through for a penny less than £45m it is pure bollocks on our part. Juan Mata is a 25 year old World Class international. You don't sell him to a league rival for anything less than premium price, regardless of their current state and position and whether or not the player is out of favour, especially when they're determined not to sell you one of their own. We had to pay over the top for Torres because Liverpool considered us a league rival and there is a bitterness between us. 5pu1s outright refused to sell us Modric even for £40m, again because they considered us a league rival and due to the animosity they have toward us and then sold him to Real Madrid for less. Yet here we are taking a leaf out of Arsenal's books and selling one of our best players to an actual league rival for a discount. There is no logic behind this at all.

If true, that's a bargain in the current transfer market. Mata is a little genius.

Angry, flabbergasted, sad, disappointed are my first 4 reactions. Loss of respect my 5th.
Really thought our days of ridiculous transfers were on the way out. In the past we have payed miles and miles over the odds, now we have one of the biggest talents around, not only do we freeze him out, sell him to the biggest Club in the PL, we virtually give him away !!!
50 mill for the log Torres 2 years ago and 37 mill for Mata ???????
Some things never change and one of them is Chelseas' revolting attitude to money. They insult the fans yet again.
Good luck to Juan, he is right to leg it from us as quickly and as far as he can, but Utd is the last place I think he should go, they are in for at least 2 years of pain before they start to come good. Spain is where he should head.
