Tonight could be a pivotal night, if not in our season in the outlook for the next couple of weeks.

    Lose tonight and
    • We have lost 3 in a row
    • Will be just 2 points above Derby, 3 above Birmingham and Forest with game in hand
    • Difficult next game at Preston
    • negativity will appear
    • the Johnson out gang will reappear
    • people will question team tactics / selection
    Win tonight
    • Only lost 1 league game in 16
    • 5 points above Derby, 6 above Forest with game in hand
    • 1 point behind Middlesbrough, 4 behind WBA with game in hand
    • 2 of next 3 games at home
    • all rosy in the garden
I for one am positive - even if we lose tonight and on Saturday we would worst case be 1 point outside the playoffs with 12 games to go - I would have taken that at the start of the season.

Oh dear. Not fatal if we lose this but a blow and many questions asked.

I think we are suffering the long term effects of not having the striking power needed to sustain a challenge at this level. Tonight's loss is not fatal but we need to get back on track because I believe that another loss might be the start of a struggle to make the playoffs. In all fairness the teams that have beaten us are not exactly questionable teams but looking at the fixture list doesn't give us any easy games and we need to really step back and look at ourselves. Lee needs to get down to brass tacks and sort them out in order to continue our challenge. Lift your heads up guys and get back to better football.

A bad day at the office, to be fair we were due one as recently we have been consistently outstanding. Birmingham played us very well, they out fought us, out thought us, and on the whole outplayed us. They were stronger than us and didn’t give us space to play our passing game , it didn’t help that the ref was awful again though.
Next stop Preston , a win there would put things back on track .
