Without Martinez we would never have seen the style of football at our club, so I will always be thankful for that regardless of the circumstances surround his exit from us. As I have also previously said, I would welcome him back as a manager one day provided he vastly improved on the defensive side of his coaching.
despite the painful break up he played a huge part in our development - good luck to him wherever he ends up
Nice to see some balanced views to be honest. We all know he was crap defensively but it's a fact that he was pretty fundamental to our current way of playing and I'm so over him. We've moved on and become better. Good luck to him - and let's be honest nobody really knows how he's going to do - but if I was an Everton fan I'd be a tad concerned at the defensive record of his teams.
he keeps on playing 3 at the back and it has not worked in most of his games...the football is there with him but his defense has always let him down....he was known as a one trick pony with us and he is still a one trick pony with no plan B....If he can rectify that then there is no reason he wont do well.....I cant see him changing though..
http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...rgotten-man-of-the-swansea-story-8452760.html Good read , he may have been tactically boring but effective and gave the club much needed stability after Martinez left us in the lurch
I don't think he's the forgotten man with the swans fans, just with the media in general, shame really it didn't work out with us, he is a very strong willed guy and there was very much a behind the scenes battle going on.
Got to laugh at some of the comments on there. They laughed at us when they took him from us and now they're bleating because he's going up a division. He turned down two bigger clubs to stay with them ffs.
