just signed on loan: seems like a very good signing.

however, the obvious question for me is why do we need another midfielder? this gives us 8 centre midfielders, so we really need to sort the numbers out. possibly worth sending halls and the youth teamers out on loan for experience

    thoughts?

I reckon his experience will compliment lewis and donnelly, who are both pretty young. Also, Harding has shown he's a long way off l1, and although Halls may pick his performances up now he's past his injury, he was very poor in the few matches we saw. However, it is a shame as I want to see Bloomfield given a run in the team, and also see a youth player every now and again.

i agree re bloomfield theblues, but this clearly wont happen with those currently in the squad. harding, looked more impressive to me on saturday and waddock clearly favours both him and halls

tbh harding hasn't impressed me yet. He's very slow into a challenge and looks a bit clueless when he gets the ball.

Rowlands if he regains full fitness is a fantastic signing. Bloomfield although a fantastic pro with a great attitude is not really good enough for this level. A sound league 2 player he doesn't have enough in this league as he does not contribute enough in terms of assists and goals and loses 10-15 games due to injury each season. Rowlands can also play wide and at full back if needed.

I'm with Joe on this one. Harding played much better on saturday and when I spoke to him after the game I felt that he had put a huge amount of effort in which is all I can ask for. This new signing in my view is much needed as I don't believe that Lewis + Donnely partnership works too well as it leaves us with less structure in the middle of the park. Will be intersting to see if Martin starts this Tuesday.

I thought Harding was ok, but I've not seen anything from him that suggests he should be picked in front of Bloomfield, and I think it is a little harsh to say Matty B can't cut it at this level as I think he has proved in the past that he can. To be honest unless Rowlands is playing full back I think this signing is a waste of time, we are crying out for more strength in defence (Foster and Sandell both worry me) and we need something new upfront.

As a QPR fan i'd like to wish rowly and you good luck although his time with us looks to have come to a bitter end(both sides) he will always be remembered as a very good player. Think he will do well for you and im suprised he didn't get a championship club but maybe you being close(ish) helped. Anyway as i said good luck and i think all r's fans will be watching out to see how he does

I think this is an excellent signing. He can actually play anywhere in midfield and I think has filled in at right back too, so that could help matters. He's got ties with us too, starting his career here.

I think having 8 midfielders when you regularly play 4 of them is pretty reasonable if you ask me. If he can stay fit he could become our best player. Another shrewd move by the Waddfather. Hopefully it could be a permanent.

I think its a good move. Bags of experience, a point to prove and should be more disciplined than both donnelly and lewis.

I don't think it would happen but i think if all 3 were to play in the middle it could be quite effective rowlands sits donnelly pushes on and supports the attack and lewis covers near enough every blade of grass so it would make us competitive in the middle of the park but i doubt it would happen.

As for bloomfield there's no question the guy works his socks off but despite some people thinking he has proved it before at this level i don't think he has and i don't think he can.And he isn't a great deal differant to what else we have. He also suffers from the Aldershot problem just as leon has. Harding and Halls are both ex shots as is winfield and i think when everyone is fit they are more likely to be named on the team sheet.

This could be a great signing if Rowlands stays fit. It has potential to have the same kind of impact Ainsworth had when he joined from QPR a couple of years ago.

To me, it also shows that Waddock still has faith in the strikers and feels that adding more creativity and experience to the centre of the midfield to provide for them is the answer to our lack of goals.

On Bloomfield, I think that this is the clearest indication yet that his time as a squad regular is coming to an end. He's been great for us and I've always been a big fan of his. But he simply is no longer league one standard in my opinion and it wouldn't surprise me to see him go on loan to a league 2 club at some point this season.

I dont care how many midfielders we have - Rowlands is quality and will bring this plus experience to our side. I wouldnt be suprised to see Waddock using more in midfield and less up front in some games this season. Lets face it - going away to both Sheff Clubs, Charlton etc, we would be foolish to go 4-4-2. Good signing.

we have 8 centre midfielders for 2 or 3 positions, and 4 wingers making 12 midfielders for 4 or 5 positions

So what? As long as we can afford them, they are all happy and we are getting results I really don't have a problem with that Jose. I have maintained all the time - since the beginning of last season - that we actually have the strikers we need in the likes of Rendell (who's not even making first XI) and now Beavon and Benyon. They're not getting the service. When we lost 2-0 to Tranmere, you could have had Rooney up front and he wouldn't have scored as no one was supplying him. I think Waddocks' got the balance right and am not going to question him.

Martin Rowlands QPR legend along with Gareth Ainsworth. May need some game time for him to be back at his best but Ive always rated him highly for what he brings to a team and was unlucky in my opinion not to play more in our promotion season. Before his injury he was playing for Rep of Ireland 2 seasons ago which is a sign of his quality. Hope he does well for you which im sure he will.

Chairboyjock you are right!!! We're 3 2 up!!! sounds a belter harris blowing them away to the point they've subbed the full back and donnelly lewis and rowlands are all in midfield sounds competitive and chances are being made.

To further prove your point living in sussex i don't get to many games now but i saw brentford and the majority of the balls into the forwards was high balls to beavon and benyon and that isn't to there strengths.
