You beat me to it Dave, I was then going to post the same article. I found out about this yesterday morning and you're right it is incredibly sad. Martin was one of my first Canary heroes when I was a young lad in the early seventies. :emoticon-0101-sadsm

I am still amazed that he ever played for us, and for so long. It was definitely a different era in those days. I have a friend here who was recently diagnosed as stage 4 Alzheimers, so I can empathize with Martins family.

A proper gent, and a fantastic footballer. It was a pleasure to watch his uncomplicated magic on the pitch. No one anywhere him in the last 40 years! A REAL hero!

The greatest player ever to wear the yellow and green in my opinion.

Stay strong please Martin, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Agree with ocf - the greatest player ever to turn out for the green and yellow, despite it being towards the end of his career. Class !!

Very sad news. A fantastic signing. Served the club well. Privileged to have seen him play. Strength to Martin and his family.
