What does every one else think after the bookies going mad today and slashing the odds on MON down to 2/1?
The transfer rumours page state that it is resting on the Stadium appeal on the 28th October, if this is true would the other candidates wait until then to see if he turns us down, if true we could lose out to someone else if it fails.

"Heard strong rumours Martin O'Neill is your man. Apparently he had a meeting today and should be unveiled tomorrow. I hope so anyway because I backed him at 40/1 on this advice. He is now 20/1.

15 minutes later he is 9/2

    30 mins later 3/1

    2/1....."

I heard that he will sign as your manager when he was still at 40/1. Apparently will either be tomorrow or the day after i haven't heard anything about waiting on stadium appeal. only time will tell

Difficult one, MON is known for liking to take on projects and seeing them through to a conclusion. He turned down many better offers to stay at Wickham and finish what he started and, given free reign here, he could do the same with backing from SL although Financial Fair Play Regs could seriously cramp his style.

I somehow doubt this will happen, the bookies are simply using this opportunity to absolutely cane us with false favourites, e.g. SOD to suck in the innocent punter, they must have made a small fortune out of all the twists and turns.

Allegedly, the appointment will be before next Sunday and, we need it, to hang on to see if we get MON subject to the stadium will piss off the other candidates and if I were one of them, I would tell the club where to stick it...

Been searching the net to try and work out where the rumour came from. But bookies don't slash odds for nothing there must have been some money trading today to get those down.

But in all honesty I can't see us losing the stadium to the nimbies now anyway as we have met them half way.

banksy - heard if off one of my close mates. he rang me this morning with the news and told me to get some money down. his family know people and he told me David James was going to sign for city a while before that news broke. not asked him a massive amount of questions as he is normally spot on, it is not 100% but i am told he is expected to be your manager either tomorrow or the day after. only time will tell.

Could tie in with the "unexpected candidate" last week end?

Hope you're right mate (or you're mates right!) I'm not gonna hold my breath but you never know.

Wonder if he would stay past the end of November?

    Unfortunately not.

Just looked on football rumours and we have, Moyes, Poyet, O'neill 'Darren Paterson <laugh> and George Graham and Curbishley all in the last two!

Its all part of the laugh I suppose.

I've been looking at OTIB a lot this evening - the threads on this subject are being deleted almost as quick as they go up which along with the sudden slashing of odds might suggest that there is no smoke without fire (as in we may have spoken to him)...

Anyone know who mods OTIB, is it the club...?

The club do Contact the mods on there when they want something hushed up!

It is a constant bone of contention with the members on there, I have read many threads complaining about that.
