This is not suprising but probably pleasing to us that this has happened, the club is in serious trouble! More so than us...

I would also like too add that there are a few alarming similarities between us and sunderland at the moment.

    Struggling to WIN
    Struggling to SCORE
    Struggling to PLAY

Everyone else below us 2 bar Reading are doing this, which is the major concerning factor!

I normally wouldn't wish relegation upon anyone, but right now, I hope all the teams below us keep losing, because at this rate that is the only thing keeping them from catching us, given our own inability to win!

    That´s pressing the panic button
If ever there was one to press,
Turfing him out at this stage
Means they´re under quite some duress,
One can´t help remember how Wolves fared
When they did the same thing last year,
Cats, if they´re not careful may just
Follow them down to the next tier.

Interesting, but big risk to take as he´s never managed in the top two divisions.

A Sunderland forum that I belong to have been discussing that for the last 3 or 4 hours!

It's split them right down the middle!

If he'd pushed any harder in 1998, he'd have split Paul Alcock down the middle <yikes>

With what's going on at Sunderland I think will do us a favour. We're on a really poor run, but luckily there's 4 other worse teams below us too.

Di Canio is a bit of a wild choice, no top flight experience and no time to do anything with tough fixtures.

Newcastle could be much closer to relegation that people think...they play QFs of Europa League vs. Benefica on Thursdays and PL vs. Fulham and Sunderland on Sundays. Factor in that the fans will probably go mental should they not put out their strongest team to try and secure a trophy, given their definite absence from next season's european battlefield, and there will be an exhausted bunch of players playing 4 games in 9 days.

    West Brom (A), Liverpool (H), West Ham (A), QPR (A), Arsenal (H)

    Brutal run-in!

True, they have a tough fixture lists, but I think Newcastle will be OK.
