Heard a rumour last night ref. discussions ongoing with Mr Coates and Martin O'Neil. Anybody else heard the same rumour?? Now I think TP as done a great job, but the prospect of O'Neil coming to the club, either now or for the new season could be a huge step forward. The rumour also claimed TP would be moving upstairs. Thoughts.
This is a rumour that just won't go away. I've read this on a few messageboards, not just the O'Neill part but the Pulis moving upstairs part as well. They could all just be a re-hash of the original rumour that has spread. However if these various people are hearing the O'Neill rumour from separate sources then maybe there's something in this.
The man would waste more money than Pulis, I for one wouldn't be happy with this move at all, get in Chris Hughton, he knows when to change his plans when something isn't working and doesn't seem as though he has "favourites" which is something that cannot be said for Martin O'Neill and Pulis. What role would Pulis be moving upstairs in? A director of football in my opinion is a terrible idea, this would never work, what does John Rudge do? Play golf and gets a free ticket to watch Stoke every week so it seems.
I've mentioned this before but isn't it true that Coates went for O'Neill before Pulis when he came back to the club? Or was that just a rumour?
