Explains everything that's gone on the past few days. I haven't spoken out about it yet but it seems MA is releasing them for the rIght reason that they are gong and need regular football to improve and unfortunate they aren't go to get that at Gillingham anytime soon.
Strange week at our club, I have been full of praise and very supportive of Martin Allen so far and being top of the league thats not really a surprise. But this week we have made some strange decisions. I realise that we have a large squad and it is probably good to trim this and increase the quality in our squad, but to start making comments about not making up the numbers next season is getting a bit ahead of ourselves, we need to concentrate on getting promoted this season. so yes better players will improve our chances of doing this, but lets sign them saying we are building on our good start because promotion is by no means guaranteed and we don't need the players getting complacent thinking we are already there, I am sure Martin won't let this happen, but statements of this nature in the press can have nasty habit of coming back to haunt you. I hope really hope that better players than those released are genuinelly joining us because these decisions could also come back to bite us of he suddenly caught short by letting players leave before the replacements have arrived!
