According to a couple of Barcelona based newspapers, we're signing Barcelona defender Marlon Santos on loan for €2 million. https://www.sport-english.com/en/ne...k-of-joining-newcastle-united-on-loan-6981364
Would be a good option as a back up but young and inexperienced so not sure what to make of it tbh but if he's good enough to earn a contract with Barcelona he must have something about him (although Joselu somehow played for Madrid) I could see it being quite a busy day tomorrow for the deadline, Spurs still haven't signed anyone as far as I know and a couple of other clubs are still being linked with players left right and centre as well. Hopefully we get a CB and a LB in as we seem heavily linked for about 5/6 players in each position and we need the cover. Possibly another striker to come in as well? Can't go into the season looking at just Joselu and Rondon (Muto and Perez seem to be vying for the "10" role) and maybe a CM if Hayden and Saviet head out the door tomorrow. And hopefully purple dildos at the ready!
This is the plan. Sell Lascelles for £35m and get in this prospect for £1.6m loan fee. Then next summer we can celebrate re-signing him on loan and hope the smoke and mirrors make people forget the Lascelles money. Or the other money we're still getting on installments...
Sounds like a cracking player: Nice’s defence struggled enormously last season, owing in part to Dante’s lack of pace, but also because of Marlon’s error-prone nature - positioning is a big problem of his... ...There are issues in his game, though, such as aerial ability and how he can get drawn out of position as well as being slow to anticipate play at times. These were highlighted in Barcelona’s US pre-season tour. Nevertheless, he would be an excellent long-term project especially for a mid-level club... ...Newcastle don’t have the option to make the move permanent. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spo...newcastle-united-news-transfers-live-15002093
Looks like someone's plucking names out of a hat,how many have we been linked with in the last couple of weeks?
How much have you seen of Yarney? More than Rafa? Are you better qualified to make the judgement of whether he is good enough to be 4th choice? Right then.
Also what is it with our alleged supports having digs at other supporters who have different opinions. Oh hail Lord Rafa!
So you maintain that you have seen more of him than Rafa and that you are better qualified to make a judgement call on the player? You may be right - Yarney may be better than Marlon Santos (who sounds dodgy) but if you are it isn't because your opinion is informed. I doubt that any of us has seen enough of both players to accurately judge who would be better so offering a fierce statement on the matter is just daft.
I know I am not Chaos but I am right plus just because Rafa is the manager doesn't mean he is always right. Yarney was in the squad for pre-season and played before we had sold Mbemba and before Lejeunes injury so Rafa must have been considering him?
