What is in our favour is that Wolves and Wigan are shyte, so that leaves Bolton and Blackburn as our rivals. Blackburn are the best team in our mini-league and I think they'll survive, so it's us against Bolton. I saw nothing from them yesterday that suggests they are better than us and they are lightweight upfront. IF we can score goals, which we should do, I think we can get enough points to stay up. Clutching at straws? Probably, but stranger things have happened, MH won't walk, he's on too much money...
Looking at the fixtures of all teams down there it's very unlikely now. Not impossible, but we need to beat Swansea and Stoke at home and West Brom away plus probably three more points on top of that. Beating Liverpool isn't completely out of the question and if we do, there will be a glimmer of hope.
As you say Sooperhoop, it's not impossible. I have been hoping that MH would have had the team on the turnaround by now, but I can see he's getting there (I too had those stats in my head). We do have defending issues, but our shot stats have shot up under Hughes. We are only losing by the odd goal in most matches, if it wasn't for bad luck we would have no luck at all. So I can't help (hope!) feeling that there are some positive surprises around the corner (for the coming fixtures). Maybe we will be more ' backs against the wall' against higher teams, like Man City and Chelsea, with improved results. Tall order maybe, but let's see us really have a go. And maybe get in a top defensive coach to help out the lads at the back.
