Not sure on what you all think but think Danny Gabbidon could still do a job at this level and still has pace. Believe he's a free agent as well. Has experience and provide good back up or even starting
Looking close to a decision now.................... http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/cardiff-city-close-loan-deal-7591722
Keep him as a back up (albeit an expensive one given his wages but City do have parachute payments for this very reason) but IMO he's a better bet as a CB at this level than Cala, who is a terrible defender. Connolly and Turner would be a good partnership.
Agree about keeping Hudson. As I said before, why on earth would anyone consider joining Fed Karno's Army at Leeds. They and Blackpool are at risk of becoming the jokes of the division.
Not if Keane comes in. Could even go with 3 cb's then and 2 wingbacks. Might be more suited to the skills of the players we have.
Agreed. He's a far better CB than RB where he was used a lot by MM and we never saw the best of him with Huds and Ben holding down the central spots.
Alternative to Keane? http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpools-tiago-ilori-transfer-target-4041839
Hmmmm, hasn't played much first team football and nothing in the Prem. Liverpool reportedly paid £8m for him in September 2013 but he has never got beyond the subs bench to the pitch and was loaned out to Granada in January. Would he be a first choice (as I think Keane would have to be under his loan terms) or extra cover for Hudson/Turner/Cala/Connolly?
I don't think anyone should be bought in on a 'first team' basis. If that's Utd's terms then we need to go elsewhere. I remember Liverpool signing him, at £8m odd he must have shown some pretty significant promise at some point in his young career!!
And Liverpool paid £35m for Carrol so I guess you're right. The transfer fee can be totally meaningless Don't think Rodgers has many total **** ups on his transfer CV though, maybe Ilori is his first..........
