Apparently been told he can leave and Leeds his likely destination. Thoughts on this? Personally, disappointed he's likely to be leaving. Good leader and reliable. We are a bit thin on the ground for CB so can only assume we're close to signing some.
Don't think the guy gets the credit he deserves. Personally think he's good enough to be our first choice this year. Lacks pace but has the heart of a lion. I would have loved to have seen him get a run of games with Caulker last year. If he's not going to play regularly though, probably best for him to move on.
He had some stick early on but was our man of the season twice. Best captain we've had in many years IMO I still think he could do a job for us.
Huds has made a fine captain but shouldn't necessarily be inluded in the side for that reason only. Did a great job in our promotion season was instrumental in getting us there, but maybe time to move on for both him and us.
Maybe Ole doesn't think Huds will be able to handle how exposed or Cb's will be under his style. The stick he took was under DJ where his lack of pace was more exposed by our open style. I've always stood up for him and I think he's an outstanding defender at Championship level in the correct setup though. His lack of pace is the reason MM replaced our player of the season as soon as we were promoted. He deserves better than sitting around as injury cover and will do a great job in the right side. We must have quality coming in at CB if he's being allowed to leave though.
Needs game time. Looks like not fully fit and probably has to have a run of 4/5 games to get up to match fitness. Would certainly be a valued squad member if not first choice after any incoming players. Why anyone would want to go to Leeds defeats me. Players have to take in their own lunch to training, no players can stay at the Mal Maison Hotel in Leeds because purple is it's brand colour (the owner says it's unlucky - where have I heard that before?) and the owner won't sign anyone whose birthday falls on the 17th as that's an unlucky date. Hudson's birthday is on the 30th (same day and month as me) so we can't use that one to keep him. And that's just the public stuff. Cellino is an absolute box of frogs - even more so than VT. I heard a story yesterday that he didn't want to sell McCormack but Fulham were insistent he gave them a price. Thinking £11m would put them off, even he was surprised when they said, okay, deal on. Crazy does work sometimes.
On the BBC article about Adeyemi, right at the end, is an apparent comment from Hudson on Twitter saying he is fit. At least we now have 2 cb's for tomorrow. Both know Rudy so hopefully will have an inside line on keeping him quiet.
Vital City hold onto him until the CB position is sorted. Rudy apparently is not 100% match fit.........mind games from Blackburn? ps. Hudson was a vital part of our promotion team, pity for him he missed the run in. Scored some vital goals as well. He'll be a good acquisition for any championship, team. His wages are too high though so better they come off the books if City can land a pair of decent new CB's.
Out of interest Nin, what wages is he on then? I just think he doesn't figure in Ole's plans except for injury cover.
We sure needed this http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/cardiff-city-defender-ben-turner-7577613
Not surprised. He was close to me when he went down at Yeovil although it looked more like an ankle strain than muscular. It was a very clumsy tackle which he need not have gone for. How many games is Cala suspended for? Not that I think he is the best cover for Ben. Even more relevant that we get a new cb in very soon. All gone quiet over Sane and some (another) Norwegian bloke. Although a Senegal international I see Sane was born in France so if he holds a French passport there should be no work permit issues to hold things up.
Cala is only out for the one game (thank God!) and I think Ole rates him highly for his attitude if not his pure defensive abilities. He could be a star this season with the right guys around him. I reckon the we've got a better chance of Ole's Norwegian bloke than Alladin, but the reported £4M being talked about for him from Molde in that League One standard national league seems a bit steep. I can still see Keane being brought in as a half season loan option.
Update on the Alladin situation - looks like he's virtually gone off the radar - or at least a very distant blip. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/cardiff-city-bid-lamine-sane-7578051
From BBC Transfer blog: - "Southampton announce Jose Fonte has signed a new three-year contract with the Premier League club - and appoint Portuguese centre-back as their new captain." Move on to the next one then, if there is a next one. Are we waiting for Man U to sign Vermaelen and then we get Michael Keane on loan?
