According to breaking news on the O/S.

Promising start, but then a terrible couple of performances. He didn't really figure under Sir Jose Riga.

    What do we think ?

Really thought he would be a good signing as somebody who has knowledge of the division and experience in a relegation scrap.

Promising debut vs QPR but poor against Sheff Utd (will not hold against him, he wasnt alone that day)

Didnt really see enough of him to form a proper opinion but clearly Riga doesnt fancy him and if it frees up wages to bring in a creative midfield/wide player then I think its the right decision.

I'm a little surprised to be honest Vol.

We have a pretty inexperienced front line and nobody who's that effective with their back to goal. He brings both so, letting him go seens a little odd to me.

Maybe the gaffer has his eye on someone else and could do without Tudgay taking up a loan place.

Who knows... these are the sorts of decisions that Mr Riga is paid handsomely to make, and he aint done too bad thus far.

I was pleased we signed him...but I was also pleased when we signed Church and Sordell. Playing him gave us (Morrison especially) a reason to hoof the ball so not too disheartened he's gone.

I can think of only two reasons for Tudgay going,

    1. To free up money for another loan (Eagles?)

    2. Riga does not rate him

If only we could have sent Sordell back after two games of his loan <whistle>

It also got me thinking of the heroically bad loans we have had since Curbs left. Its almost worth a thread in its own right. Tudgay and Sordell would be on it, but how about a few others post Curbs such as:

    Graeme Murty
    Martin Crainie
    Greg Halford
    Frank Nouble
    Gary Borrowdale
    Lee Cook
    Carl Ikeme

When you consider how the genius of Curbs put our Club on our stable footing, only for the "post Curbs binge" to see millions of £'s squandered on loan tat like the above, it is incredible.

    P.S:

Was Simon Francis a **** loan, or was he just **** full stop ?

Vol, it wouldnt surprise me if both reasons you state were behind Tudgay leaving, although I think it is a little harsh to include him in a list of dud loans when we barely saw him play.

In terms of dud loans, how about the following?

    Keith Gillespie
    Martyn Waghorn
    Emmanuel Frimpong
    Tom Soares
    Hameur Bouazza

On Simon Francis, did anyone else think he has really come on based on his performance last week? Really seemed to have improved the defensive side of his game.

I thought Greg Halford did a reasonable job for us, and I also liked Matt Fry, now to be found at Dartford.

Sordell has done better in the last five or six games, but he still can't do what he's paid to do.

Played well against QPR then who knows what happened, can't be bothered trying to guess. If it's not working you don't want him hanging around -how stupid is it to take a player on a season-long loan without the option of sending him back? I thought the days of us being shafted had come to an end when Mr. Murray handed over control, and it must not happen again.

Surprised to see that Matt Fry is now at Dartford, he looked like he was going to have a decent career.
