Seems Vito has put his foot in his mouth about his time here and the Arse lot are having a field day .. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...earch.html?s=&authornamef=Sportsmail+Reporter
Considering Wojciech Szczesny is ****e, all the best to him. I was happy to see his contribution to their match on the champions league highlights last night.
'I thought "Let's go to Hull". Nobody wants to go there really...' Ha, that made me laugh. I bet loads of people will jump up enraged at that. It's funny.
"Every goalkeeper has his own path, and I had mine. I had bad times and I just rolled up my sleeves and worked hard. Then, I thought: "Let's go to Hull",' he said. 'Nobody wants to go there really, but I found a good club, good fans and I gained experience." Zero comments at the end of that article so not sure which Arsenal fans you mean. The bloke was a first class pro when he came here, and deserves any success which comes his way.
Vito was a top bloke and a good keeper when he was here. I wouldn't read too much into his comments as the press have obviously edited them for the article. I would have him back here in a flash. Good luck to the lad
He is stating the truth. Nobody does want to come here. But when they do, they find its a half decent place with very decent people.
http://news.arseblog.com/2012/09/ma...gnews (Arseblog News - the Arsenal news site) Some of the usual 'Fever Pitch' "Arse" followers on here Hull is a ****hole? Take a look at Abu Hamza and chums in your Finsbury Park backyard, you clueless ****s!
He had nothing but good things to say about the area when here, so I don't doubt for a second that a Southern-based newspaper has twisted his words just to get in another anti-Hull jibe. I keep reading about 'another new report' on the gap widening between North-South poverty... it seems a new one comes out every 3 or 4 months now - I think they're done just to keep morale up down south as they're too soft to cope with a recession.
I'm not sure it's even an anti-Hull spin on this occasion. He's just saying that people, especially down south, assume it isn't a nice place but goes on to say he had a good time here.
Not that bad, is it? Both British and foreign players often seek advice when moving to another corner of the country and I've no doubt he did the same. I've no doubt he was told by everyone to avoid Hull like the plague. Of course, it doesn't bother me as I'm a Beverlonian
Vito has had nothing but praise for his time in Hull, and I agree many have bad impression of Hull, but are pleasantly surprised when they get here that it is not as bad as they were lead to believe.
heres how i interpret it its nothing to do with the city , its that a premier league player , an arsenal player doesnt want to goto Hull , a championship side - a fair comment to anyone with ambitions of being number 1 for a top premiership side ,
Dazzar - it wasn't meant as a criticism of Vito - I know personally how much he liked the city, the area and the fans.. the 'gaffe' has loads of Arse supporters having a pop at us http://news.arseblog.com/2012/09/ma...gnews (Arseblog News - the Arsenal news site) Perhaps you could see them a link of your excellent website showing photos of our city?
Vito only said good things about us when he was here so wouldn't really read to much into one comment like that which could have been made up or exaggerated anyway. Good luck to him, top man, top goalie.
nothing wrong with the article at all. We all know what Vito means and what he thought of his time here. So good luck to him. Great bloke.
