    Manchester Utd. v Watford

    Date : Sunday 13th May 2018
    Venue : Old Trafford
    Kick Off : 1500 BST

Manchester United remain without Romelu Lukaku (ankle) and Marouane Fellaini (muscular) and manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed he will make a number of changes.

David De Gea will be rested having already won the 2017/18 Golden Glove and will be replaced by Sergio Romero. Michael Carrick will captain the side in his final match before retirement.

Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Juan Mata, Daley Blind and Eric Bailly are also set to play.

Nathaniel Chalobah (knee) has a chance of featuring for the first time in eight months for Watford.

The midfielder has been ruled out with a knee injury for the past eight months but Javi Gracia revealed at today’s media briefing that he could be involved in some capacity at Old Trafford this weekend.

“He has a chance. We’ll see in the last training session tomorrow, but he is an option. He deserves this chance because he has worked very hard all this time,” said the Hornets’ Head Coach.

“He’s not in the best condition yet but if he can play say five minutes, 10 minutes – I don’t know – it will be very good for him and for the team as well.

Kiko Femenia, Miguel Britos and Andre Carrillo missed training on Friday and are doubtful, while Etienne Capoue (personal reasons) and Stefano Okaka (thigh) have been ruled out.

    FACTS:

Manchester United have won 13 of their last 14 meetings with Watford in all competitions, losing only at Vicarage Road in September 2016.

The Red Devils have won more final fixtures in a Premier League campaign than any other side, with 17. They have only finished with a loss twice, against Tottenham Hotspur in 2001 and West Ham United in 2007.

This will be the 500th Premier League match at Old Trafford. There have been more goals scored there than at any other in the competition (1,406).

Troy Deeney has scored three PL goals against Man Utd, all from the penalty spot. Only Steven Gerrard, with four, has scored more spot-kicks against the Red Devils in the competition.

    Good one Frenchie.
What does it mean to not play for personal reasons for Capoue? Or am I just being suspicious?

Looking forward to going with Hackney and two of our youngsters

Not at all sure about Capoue. Shame really as I think he has put in some of his best performances lately.

Cheers for the threads this season OFH. <applause>

Even though they'll rest players they'll still have a very decent starting 11.

With the way our season has been away recently you can't expect too much. Also, given our stupidly bad injury record this season can't we just put Chalobah in cotton wool until next season.

The only hope is that Man U have two eyes on the cup and we suddenly score a few away now the relegation pressure is off.

True, I hated watching him a while back but has improved the most under Gracia.

Half of me now thinks we can do it tomorrow, half of me remembers the time I went and we got done 4-0 with Larsson scoring. hmmmmmm

Interestingly, this was the line up that day:

Watford: Lee, Mariappa, Doyley, DeMerit, Stewart, Smith (Williamson 72), Bangura, Francis, Powell (Hoskins 61), Bouazza, Henderson (Kabba 75).
    Subs Not Used: Chamberlain, McNamee.

    • The only match I've been able to see since we got promoted was the midweek match at OT where we lost 1-0 to a Mata free-kick in 83rd minute. Our line-up that day, with players no longer at the club in bold: Gomes, Nyom, Prödl, Britos, Holebas, Abdi, Behrami, Watson, Capoue, Deeney, Ighalo. Subs: Pantilimon, Suarez, Amrabat, Paredes, Cathcart, Aké, Anya
I appreciate that I have included players out on loan amongst those no longer at the club, but how realistic is it that any will return?

Well don't think either Amrabat or Patilimon will want to come back and not sure they will..

Must admit not too excited about this. It feels like the season has already ended. My focus is on Garcia's future and surely this match can have no bearing on that.

On Capoue I have to give him the benefit of the doubt without more info.

Well hope the faithful have a good day. Looks like it will be a pleasant one weatherwise.

Cheers wherever you may be. <cheers>

Perhaps Capoue heard that Chalobah may get a few minutes and thought he would be the one that is hooked giving him a taste of what's to come next season.

Seriously do not know what to expect this afternoon a boring uneventful last game of season with the United looking ahead to next weekend with us on the beach, or our lads really up for it sensing a chance of some glory?. Ten minutes into the game I guess we will have my answer.

Stopped off at Norton Canes services on M6 Toll... our 7 coaches, about ten Brighton coaches; Liverpool and Man Utd too. How civilised. Roll back 30 years....<yikes>

How many players will need gloves? My guess is that it will only be the two keepers!

Finally he gets his 100 up. I hope we can see his celebration as we score.

Good afternoon all, don't expect to win but hopefully be entertained by both teams.
Glad Gomes gets his 100th start, I was worried the Gracia would not be aware of this. Karnezis did a good job though I thought.
Will post a link if I find one.
