Someone posted this on FB and it really resonated with me.

    upload_2025-10-8_8-48-37.png

I really wonder where all this is going...and for a supporter it is such a test of faith. The 'problem' clearly lies with the Pozzos. The must see that they keep picking the wrong guys...

Shame too as the current team are showing some promise now.

If they really are sacking Paolo, then it can't be because of the last three games, it must be because of the first six. And if you're sacking a manager after nine games (let alone six) it shows you got the decision wrong, and wasted a pre-season. If you are getting the decision about hiring the manager wrong so many times, then it requires some inward reflection and a change of process higher up the club. I don't mean Pozzo out, but I mean Pozzo think differently and take different advice.

I thought things had changed with Cleverly because he was given a season. I actually thought letting him go was fine, he started to look like he couldn't figure out how to get us performing again, and the new guy would get at least to the winter transfer window (unless it went disastrously wrong Sheffield United style). But then if you start chopping and changing managers again, that becomes a problem in and of itself.

Why should players listen to the manager, or care what he says? Why should good players or coaches want to join us? How do you develop young talent to sell on for a profit if they don't have managers to learn from and mentor them? How do supporters build a connection with the team? And, ultimately, how can any manager build anything sustainable when they have to be totally pragmatic and try to win any way possible from day one? I don't know if Paolo is the right guy for the rest of this season (let along the longer term), but I don't think sacking another manager so quickly helps the long-term future.

Yes must be so destabilising for the team..... and clearly not help us get the results we seek..
I agree with what you say about the Pozzo's maybe they can learn and revise the way the proceed. We have achieved with them .. lets hope we can continue to. Its hard to find good owners in football these days who have the money
Sure would be great if better owners cam along but currently that is just a dream.

I agree with you, the key point is "better" owners. It's very well to say Pozzo out, but what's the alternative? And things could have been a lot worse for the club over the last decade or so.

It's what makes me think that the vocal 'fans' on social media are little more than kids. I break out in a cold sweat every time I see the word Bassini - had we not managed to prise his claws off the club 13 or so years ago, we probably wouldn't have a club today.

Well it's official now! After winning a game with more shots on goal than a Watford team has had in six years, he gets the sack.

    Welcome back Javi.

Good luck - you might need it but least everyone will be backing you ( well till the first game )

Coventry and Ipswich away plus Boro and WBA at home to play before the next break ..

It’s going to need some good performances if he wants to start well .

However maybe the Pozzos have learned something?

"In appointing Javi, the club are confident that he will bring the qualities we believe are vital for this young squad: consistency in team selection, harmony within the dressing room and a strong connection with our supporters. His vision and approach align closely with our objectives."

    Consistency
    Harmony
    Connection

(Sounds like a staff awayday flip chart team building exercise!)

Worryingly nothing about singing from the same hymn sheet as the owner & management team

This is the Pozzo way, we should be used to it by now. Even if sometimes it is baffling.

The media and other fans won’t understand Pezzolano was that unpopular people wanted him out weeks ago .

I know it’s all a bit comical and predictable generally but honestly I think this time the Pozzos would have been criticised more for not making a change!

Even since the news this morning the feeling is let’s hope we see great attacking football that shoots us up the league so basically Gracia has to deliver that or he will be the next under pressure.

Oddly very popular - he's been unemployed for around two and a half years. Hope he hasn't forgotten a) what caused his sacking the last time, and b) how to coach.

Strangely I would have been ok with him in charge for the next four games to see if he had got things right overall

However I see the next manager as the best choice they have made since our first relegation, proven record and popular with the fans, he will need to sort out his best team fast and try to gain momentum for the rest of the season

If Troys comment were correct then sacking PP was the only option available to the club

Well Pezzolano had to go. His tactics, lack of system, picking players out of position (the list is endless there), his attitude towards players. All of this could be seen on a matchday where as fans we could see him arguing with players inc Louza on a number of occasions, it was onlygoingto get worse. Any points we won were despite him. Very toxic, we couldn't wait any longer, it was obvious from very early on. This is the first time I have ever agreed with a Pozzo decision. Clearly the fault is with the ownership for recruitment in the first place.

According to the interview on 3CR tonight Javi was the first choice but he had an operation that meant he would not have been available until now, so maybe PP was an interim choice that they hoped would work

Javi seems to be the right/popular choice from everyone on the programme

As Duggie says we wanted Gracia in the summer but he wasn’t available due to some personal health issues .

I accept it all looks farcical again and typical of us but do think this time Pezzolano just didn’t fit in with the squad or players unfortunately.

That is down to the board appointing someone with no English or experience here .
