Bunch of soft sh!tes the lot of you. I had a full hip replacement on the 7th January and I've already run three marathons, admittedly the first one on the 9th January was on crutches.
Now this is my area of expertise. Man Flu is indeed a myth. Women have higher pain thresholds too so there is a difference physiologically in how men and women deal with coughs and cold. Most 'Man Flu' is nothing more than a strong cold which us blokes use as an excuse to get a lot of attention. I milk it like hell and usually get through some decent box sets on my 'recovery'....
**** off man...Man Flu is potentially a killer !!! HDAQ is talking about ambulances and **** and everything.....it must be so so bad !!!
I work in a hospital, obviously with a high proportion of women as the dominant sex in terms of numbers. I've not had a day off sick in years, yet the numbers of women who get manflu completely dwarves the blokes who are victims of it! Many poor lasses succumb to it at the time of their holidays. It's probably from the airport. It's so contagious that they often contract it a day or so before their holidays, and have to take manflu on holiday with them. They always recover mind - probably the sea air helped by daily medicinal tots of wine and prosecco. But manflu strikes the women at our place pretty hard, judging by the sickness rates.
Got a high temperature due to manflu? Meh, nowt beats the heat generated by the Glow when the mackems went down two seasons running. Mega
Personally I am not valued enough to try and drag myself in if I was ill. No leeway would be ever given.
