Our new midfielder Samba Diakite will be in action in the semi-final at 7.00 on Eurosport. Let's see a Man of the Match performance and a narrow defeat for Mali...

even if Mali loose they've got to play the 3rd/4th place game, so I'd rather see Diakite win - unless he'll be allowed to bunk off the 3rd/4th game :bandit:

Oh bollox! I forgot they have those bloody meaningless games. In that case let's hope he plays a blinder, stiffs Drogba and they win with ease...

I think this should be a real test for him, up against the Ivorians. I'm praying he's the new Makelele.

1901: An untidy start as Mali's Samba Diakite is fouled by Ivory Coast's Cheik Tiote.

I wish they didn't have three Diakite and a Diabate. Confusing.

HD does show every bit of Drogba 's simulation in great clarity.

Our guy's probably been the pick of the Mali team.

Diakite goes on a terrific run, driving right at the Elephants, and the ball eventually finds its way to Yatabare, who fires over - but that was better from Mali and the QPR loan signing gave them great hope with a surging run. - Sounds good enough <ok>

They have to play 3rd place play-off on Saturday though <grr>
