When watching the game yesterday I noticed the half time presentation of the Malaysian academy youngsters flown over from Malaysia to watch the game. Great gesture all round, now here's the question. Was Malky told to play open football to showcase it to the kids and the adults who invariable travelled with them? I know it sounds a little far fetched but not out of the realms of possibility. As Chairman would you want these folks to see the rubbish we have been subjected to over the last few weeks or something better? Your thoughts folks?
I would hope it was because he finally decided what he was doing wasn't working out, and being a good manager decided to go with yesterdays team because he felt that would produce the best chance of winning. Otherwise what you're suggesting means he has deliberately been playing a side that is less than yesterdays, and I have to ask, why would he do that.
i watched a malaysian stream of the game online and they loved it, did a whole piece at half time about the kids, was pretty interesting actually. the host and his guest were getting so excited about city being promoted it was like a fan sho9w or something. kinda weird but quite sweet as well they are getting behind us
I watched that as well Drew. You can see that there is some excellent work being done by Cardiff at Malaysian grass roots level. Some 3000 kids were originally involved. Building the beginnings of an overseas supporter base I think.
I would like to believe it was because Malky finally listened to discenting voices and made the changes necessary but anything is possible at this club these days.
Personally I like to think MM has decided his plan A wasn't entertaining or overly successful, it worked at the beginning of the season but other managers sussed it and coupled with poor performances something had to change. Drew/Siam I watched the same thread and did I hear correctly their team beat us 10-1!
I think he had to shake things up as we were becoming predictable and teams were working us out, which didnt take alot of working out. Yesterday we played with pace (apart from Conway) we were very effective in the midfield and we created Blackburn all sorts of problems. In a nutshell we were all entertained yesterday, which has been missing for quite a while.
ha yes i heard that too about the drubbing by the youth team, my first thought was ardley, sign them up! yes it was about 3,000 kids, from all over malaysia as well including the rougher parts where kids wouldn't get the chance. seems like a real effort by tan to do a bit of good in his home country which will aid in the supporter base growth. seems to have an effect already if you believe the host, the way he was talking about people being excited by the affiliation with a premier league club over there. i must say i quite enjoyed the heavily biased coverage towards us tho haha for purely egomania
taff in a nutshell I don't think malky is looking at entertainment at this stage of the season>>>>>>its all about the points and we have fking lots of them>>>>>>>>>so please tell me malky has done things right cos it seems fking good enough from where im standing
Aber, not implying MM isn't doing the job, he is, but it is good to see open attacking footy again, it takes me ages to find streams and I am disappointed with the performance. Maybe MM has spoilt us with keeping us top and now I/we want more I like entertainment
the man utd lot can say pretty much the same this year>>>>>very ordinary football but they get results>>>>>dew your a hard man 2 please taff....you are being spoilt watching the german stuff ................british football has gone back a mile if u ask me and we aint no different from the rest.
Aber, Ithink the last few years of us being in the top end has spoilt me As for German footy, the best thing here is the ticket prices are around 15-20 Euros even in the Bundesliga, there is also standing in the grounds. There is violence but the law are really tough on it, no messing about with these guys, horses, dogs riot gear oh and guns...
