Never felt so confident in a manager's ability.

Long may it continue, well done Nicola Cortese AND also Les Reed for the appointment.

Deserves his 4 year extension and if he carries on as he has he deserves us to cut him some slack if form does drop at some stage. He seems really loyal and committed to the plan, and I can see him here in 4 years.

Team spirit seems high, he is tactically aware, has transformed away form and has us all pulling in the same direction towards the same common goal together as one. It's as simple as that.

Also seems a really decent guy when I have met him, and unlike previous managers doesn't particularly view Southampton Football Club as a stepping stone to bigger things.

I don't feel I am being OTT, but want to thank Nige for the ride so far, and long may his reign continue.

Gotta agree and i don't think you are being over the top,he seems a top bloke,he came out before the game yesterday and was happily having his photo done with kids and signing autographs and whereas you think some managers and players are false when they do that, with nigel you can tell that he's 100% genuine and no matter what he's always positive, when we lose or play badly you know that once you hear him talk you'll feel better. My mother also loves him!

Positive? I'm starting to think the guy is a bit of a sadist...Look at his interview after the game yesterday and his reaction to Chaplows sending off "Exciting wasn't it?" I nearly had a frigging heart attack when Richardson cleared it off the line and the amount of corners and free kicks Barnsley had in injury time.

It's great to have a manager we all have faith in and I don't fear he will leave us at the 1st opportunity. He showed great loyalty to Scunthorpe and unless Liverpool come knocking as long as he keeps doing the job he is doing for us then I see a long and happy future together.

My mother loves him too lol

I thought his autograph signing/photo opportunities before the start of play at Barnsley yesterday was great - nice touch Nigel
Still a manager close to his supporters and got his feet firmly on the ground - CLASS

It was the best reaction to a red card ever - both from a serious and non-serious point of view.

Not only does it show how positive the guy is and how he's always trying to find the good in a situation - and that it was blooming funny - it also shows that he's not one of your typical managers who spends their whole time blaming the referee or wrongly defedning their players (did you see Pardew on MOTD firstly say that Gervinho clearly dived, when he didn't, and then go and basically defend Barton!).

Only Nigel could react to an awful challenge that was rightly given a red-card by suggesting it made the game more exciting! I absoloutely love the guy.

Got to agree Lambert Walk, and also the fact that you've embedded a video of, pretty much, my favourite band of all time - XTC. Making Plans... is not their best track by any means. Bit of fun though.

I was at first a little sceptical about the bloke, but all that changed for me when the league show did a piece before his first game when he bought his family for a tour if the stadium and was genuinely excited to be at the club. He isn't your run of the mill manager and I am very glad, we have shown the football league and premier league how not to, but most importantly how to go about running a club from top to toe. Shame Sepp Blattet and his crooked hierarchy are too busy counting their bung money to notice our "how to run a football club" lesson....

    We'll look at the DVD

It's great, the minute you try and take sides in a situation as a manager you back yourself in a corner and can end up looking stupid. Like Messrs Wenger & Pardew.

Many managers preach about respecting the ref but our Nige practises it. A referees decision will rarely win or lose you a game. Control the controllables and 9 out of 10 times the best team will win.

I had a dream where he led us to Europe in the 2016/17 season, then retired from management and became a director of football. Marian Pahars took over as manager, with Brett Ormerod, Kelvin Davis and Antti Niemi in his backroom team. It was pretty awesome.

To be fair to Pards, he and Wenger have a little rivalry going, dating back to AP's West Ham days. I think you'll find that Pardew isn't always like that. However, Nigel's response is always good value. You may be surprised that he actually gets up a few people's noses [not mine though], with his interview technique, and the manner in which he goes about his Saints business. I wonder what there is to whinge about..?
