There are many reports in England and Italy saying we are close to reaching an agreement to sign Maicon from Inter for about £6 million. I think it would be a great temporary right back until we find someone who is young and ready to stay with us for a while. Could be a great and cheap signing!

Would be a solid signing if 6 million is true. Haven't seen him play for a while but this guy was up there with the best right backs in the world the season Inter won the C.L in 2010 and he kept Alves out the Brazil side if memory serves.

Had a mare v Bale in the C.L but Bale can do that to the very best in his 3 or 4 good games a year.

I like the idea of promoting youth but if we are in the market for a right back, we could do a lot worse for a 2-3 year solution.

In today's Times they reckon its likely we'll be looking to sign Fiorentina's striker Jovetic! These tales in the papers about likely signings seem to go on and on as if they're all having a guess to fill up column inches!

How right you are. Someone, sometime has to stop spending and bring through the kids. No more old players, we've got too many already.

Your right actually I completely forgot about them! I'm especially looking forward to seeing Todd Kane. He has bags of potential. Hopefully we can get him into the first team squad like we have done with Bertrand.

Isn't what he used to be but if the deal's right then it would be a great short term deal!

Him and a couple more, like Josh and Piazon. Bertrand showed what our youngsters can achieve when they are groomed into the first team squad, and his play ,when out of position in the CL was terrific. Hope by seasons end we have 3 or 4 kids who have made the step up, or at least are on the ladder. Won't happen if we keep buying old, short term players.

Would like to see Hutchinson be given a place in the team rather than sign Maicon a over aged 30's player.
