We would have been overun in midfield. Maddison doesn't put in half the work that Longstaff does. He is more of a natural goalscorer but we had two players not firing in midfield yesterday (Guimares and Almiron). Longstaff is definitely not a natural goalscorer but it was encouraging that he was not only putting in a great midfield display but also getting into forward positions. He works really well with both Almiron and Trippier.

To be honest I think he is our most improved midfield player and its clear that Howe really values his work as he is getting the most minutes of any of the midfielders.

Joelinton was also very good yesterday.

Longstaff covers ground but he's a hopeless case. Joelinton does that job well on and off the ball.

Longstaff needs replacing and we need players that aren't injured all the time, so I'd look away from Maddison tbh.

We've got 3 crocks in Wilson max and isak so those positions are still weak imo.

A player like maddison , a good attacking midfielder that can play right or left , a back up rb and a proper no 9 would be ideal.

We're also an injury away from lascelles playing every week because targett is injured and trippier is suspended.

Please explain how Isak is a crock? He's been unlucky in his first year here but played over 40 games in each of the three years previous.

He's had injury problems even prior to his move here mate. I read their fans saying they'd sold us a player for 60 million that never plays.

I dont understand how you can make over 120 appearances in three years but still be considered to have never played <laugh>

He's had some long term injury problems long before we signed him. So far he's played 3 games in 17 here .

His longest Injury before coming here was a month. Apparently he only had two Injurys at Real Sociedad and missed 5 games overall.

It seems like he's averaging 1 period of injury a year I don't think that qualifies him as being injury prone. I'd imagine most players records would look similar if not worse than that.

Well I hope you're right .. I would still like a proper no 9 though.

Hamstring injury at his age is a massive issue. The same problems that ASM is having and look at him.

A player as young as Isak shouldn’t be having serious hamstring issues.

Thought it was a thigh injury, similar to the injury that back in the day crocked Woodgate for months.
