Posh have accepted a bid from LCFC but he´s already turn WHU, QPR plus a few more big clubs down so I´m not sure what it all means ??? Other news - SGE is out of the country... interesting. PS, THIS WAS MY 200th POST
Sven is in Thailand opening academies and generally being a guest of the owners on a tour of the country. CMS Lives not a million miles away from Leicestershire. My guess is he (might) be doing this for a chance to stay local to home and get in with a big club & money. The deal I am most surprised he turned down was Norwich. Great manager, well supported and local enough for the same reasons. Either that or he's just posturing the market for a bigger move in the Prem? Probably a bit of both involved.
Send them Tom Kennedy, Robbie Neilson, Conrad Logan, Dany N'Guessan, Moussa on loan and 1.5M That way they get players and money and we get some crap off our books I would even offer them Waghorn on loan til Christmas
I agree Dirkster, he would have gone to Norwich for the same local reasons, maybe he really would prefer first team football, and Norwich can't offer it to him, they signed Graham recently, and isn't Holt a striker there too?
ooh sorry that was Swansea, do you think that CMS would have been guaranteed first team football at Norwich next year?
I enjoyed watching Norwich from afar when they were mixing it at the top end of the table and pishing off Sir Alex, or Alex as he was then known! I doubt the like will happen again unfortunately in this day and age, for any club other than a select few. But good luck Norwich, a proper, old fashioned, well supported club in the top flight.
Just saw this on Foxes talk...interesting some comments from the forest forum from somebody who seems to be in the know and is pretty well respected. he's from peterbrough too. Mackail-Smith NOT a done deal yet. (Although it's about 95% certain to get done as the clubs have agreed a (IMHO) extortionate fee and the player has agreed terms) Having said that, West Ham are still involved and could still snatch him (reply to somebody saying is the fee 3.5million) ................The total is a bit more than that. If all of the add ons are achieved it's £3.66m, although I'm not sure of the exact break-down and there is a sell-on clause too. EDIT: I should probably add that Posh are currently talking to Leicester's Tom Kennedy, to try and agree terms and if that goes through, he becomes part of the deal, reducing the cash element to about £2.8m-ish (still including the add-ons) (reply to somebody saying we should spend the money on maynard).............. That's actually part of the reason it hasn't gone through yet. Leicester's first choice is Maynard, but I don't believe they've yet submitted a bid which is acceptable to Brizzle. CMS is their second choice and he'd rather go to West Ham, so both sides are waiting to see what happens. Plus Posh really want to get their hands on Kennedy, who they had on loan last year. So it's at a bit of an impass at the moment.
If CMS wants to play for WHU, cut the ties now tbh, if hes not interested in playing for us, he can go elsewhere!
I agree to a point, but if you were about to find the next 3/4 years biggest salary in your lifetime, you'd take your time, yes?
Hell if he comes here i'll still welcome him, just seems a shame that for both sides it seems like the backup option. I was hoping that both CMS and Maynard would join, i guess that would be the dream... As long as we get 2 from Maynard CMS and Nugent, i'll be happy.
Jonno24 on foxestalk stated this about CMS last night (Wed) at 11pm: DONE DEAL passed medical tonight Not sure when this will be announced maybe tmoz more likely Friday. Says he dad's bezzie mate is the club doctor...... If Stringer is saying Nugent is "nailed on" and signing today that makes me think Maynard is a no go. Looks like SSL will be done today/tomoz too
