So you get that the players aren't robots and its not FIFA right! So the players have some part to play on all this? Glad were on the same page
Pretty much. Though its down to a lack of discipline not too much discipline. Rooney wants to do it all. We would be a better side with Martial central, Memphis to the left and a rapid winger on the right (Mane would be a good shout tbh). Suddenly everything changes. But, for whatever reason, Rooney has to play. Agree with it or not, he has to, but he needs to be smarter. He's 30, not a young 30 either. He needs to learn when to make a run, when to stay, when to be the decoy. He needs to become an intelligent striker. But others need to help him. Nobody is restricted, the entire attacking unit is free to roam basically but it's Martial who is doing it right. He's showing up top class pro's. Giggs and Schools both went through the same thing Wayne is. Their own personal transition. They both reinvented themselves later in their career after both had spells where some were calling them finished. Giggs was even bored. Rooney needs to do the same. Van Gaals allowing him that chance but, as we've seen with van Gaal, there comes a point when even his favourite players, the ones he would have round for tea, get tossed aside. We need the number 10 playing more like a second striker. Making late runs into the box, being an option for the crosser. We need the striker to stay forward, unless we get someone with superb hold up play then we have the players to break. Seeing as pur current stroker can barely control the ball at times, dropping deep to hold up the ball whole we break is ERM....... Yeh, it doesn't work at all. We end up with loads forward and exposed at the back. The wide players need to be coming in when the balls on the opposite flank, as Martial did v CSKA. I look at the squad and in defence, were basically there (with Shaw fit we have the most balanced defence in the league). In midfield, we have the best of the lot but up front, sometimes, 4 strangers together sort of doing their own thing. Then suddenly they click for 20 minutes and forget again... He's sorted the defence and midfield, he will sort the attack.
Current team - decide how they play themselves. Moyes's team - in your own words proven winners and a team of champions, do exactly what Moyes says Talk me through that again. On second thoughts............
Its simple. The players don't play how they want but they are not robots who have to be instructed to perform every move. They train so that the manager can implement his plan but once on the pitch, have the freedom to express themselves. The notion they are restricted is quite simply, wrong. And Moyes did have a team of Champions. To begin with. Not sure where it fits in here though. I've never said Moyes told them exactly what to do either. Moyes too implemented his plan during training but on the pitch the players had a job to do. Moyes 'plan' was one of the problems. He didn't have a clue what it was so it wasn't the best starting point was it? Van Gaal clearly does.
Putting things simply, it would be like giving your prized classic Mercedes to LVG, asking him to pimp your ride and getting back this monstrosity in return... please log in to view this image While some will be dazzled by the leopard skin facade, most will see it as an afront to all that's good and holy about the well engineered machine that it is.
Yeh you got me there. No idea what you're getting at? BFS? On another note, a toy company has released a Nazi doll that looks just like Schweinsteiger.... He's suing. Obviously.
Anyway, LvG is like the guy who comes into your failing company and tears **** up. Sacks half the company, changes everything and just gets on your nerves. Then a few years later, when your company is receiving some award for some achievement you were nowhere near a few years back, you realise, ****.... Hes good. That's van Gaal.
When he's fit he plays just because he is captain. Hmm, enough said. That just shows this manager can never win us the league because even if his captain scores own goal every week he will still play.
