Luzon certainly could not have been much less impressive at the press conference. He made Avram Grant look like Derek Jacobi performing at the RSC. A low grade, mumbling non entity. I will never accept him at Charlton no matter what he 'achieves' so long as I have a hole in my backside, he should never have got with 500 miles of the job.

Hole in your backside? You should put that in a CV. I'm sure there's a place in the network for someone with that qualification.

Luzon won a lot of new admirers in the West Stand yesterday after his sending off, and his antics were the top item on the Football League Show last night, where he was sporting a bigger grin than Reams when he sees a 4 pack of Special Brew.

That was the first time I've seen him live, and I was in the West stand, so I got a good view (I reckon part of the money I paid was for the 'Luzón show'). Great value, from the wild jumping up and down to the 'check the lie of the Green for this putt'. Plus, and here is what really moves me, he seems to be a sound tactical manager, who knows what he wants and comunicates it. He may well be mad as a box of frogs, but I'd rather have that than the terrified defending which Bob Peeters loved so dearly. Like it or lump it, our two best managers in recent years are from abroad.

Does anyone know if he has displayed similar antics at previous clubs ??

I would love to know if it is Charlton inspired or not....

I must admit I got my twopennyworth in when he was appointed, but it does feel good to be wrong. He looks to me to be the best manager we've had since Curbs, and sacking Millwall Bob for him now looks like a masterstroke. He has a very positive vibe about him, never a hint of a moan about financial restrictions. Most managers would be moaning about having to use so many kids, but he has made a virtue of necessity. And, like Curbs, he makes no attempt to ingratiate himself with the fans, just goes about his business in his own individual way. I was pleased when he ignored Upper North's request for a wave. Seeing the ball in the back of the net is much more fun.

Just one of a string of managers/head coaches to be let down by the owners. But GL knew RD well, so knew what to expect. After "let down" comes "stabbed in the back". But he and his attractive wife will cry all the way to the bank. We, the fans, don't have those consolations. (Of course, I have not seen all your wives).

Nobody should bother getting too emotionally attached to Luzon.

5 more performances like yesterday and he will resemble a crushed can of Special Brew after Reams has finished with it.
