Lost Gordon now aswel. Tonight Newcastle were **** btw they deserved to lose and on the evidence of that display they lose to Luton.
Another away defeat incoming. We went up levels, we've gone down a peg or two, the owners (not Staveley) will reconsider and reset. But not before more pain's inflicted, including here. Outplayed by a crap Chelsea side. Unless Luton get players sent off, we will really struggle. Too much energy for us - particularly as we have none.
Howe has run the players into the ground I don't think just chucking more bodies at it in January will solve this issue moving forward. I actually think Sunderland might beat Newcastle by the time we get there because the squad is in absolute tatters. Tonight was like watching Bruce's Newcastle but Bruce had an excuse.... Howe needs to rethink a few things.... his style of play doesn't work unless games are at a minimum.
Obviously not aware that football isn’t played in just one style. Simply because you defend, which is an art in itself, doesn’t mean you deserve to lose. zFor someone who claims to have discovered BJ I’m surprised you aren’t aware of that.
Newcastle are have now lost 4 of their last 5 games with their only victory being against 10 men for 70 minutes. I suspect Howe will be under pressure for the 1st time come February, but he'll be backed and they'll expect to improve next season. There's bizarrely already some fans wanting him replaced which is a bit daft..... this game on paper to these fans is a game they'll expect to win, so of they don't beat Luton they'll start going for him.
There is no one available even, so who we going to go for? Let's say, Jose is willing to come. How much will we have to pay off Roma? Will it heal players? No, it has to be Eddie for now. We knew there were issues with him when he first signed for us, Rafman told us
They are awkward to play against but get Botman and Burn back in for a bit more physicality and we will be fine.
I don't think there will be. Our issues are related to the effects of FFP and a lack of squad options during an incredibly busy first half of the season. As I presume our January spend will still be limited by FFP*, I would much rather put £15million towards getting fresh legs in, in January, than use it to pay off the contract of a manager who, for me, is still performing well beyond expectations. *Subject to confirmation by @FadgewackeR
I don't expect any significant changes because the clubs unable to continue spending because of FFP. The club will have to sell players, let a couple of years play out and then go again. Unfortunately last season has lead to an ill conceived belief that Newcastle are further ahead in their plan , but the club quite simply is not! The side just finished 4th once. This game vs Luton is not going to be pretty and Matt Ritchie will start because the managers untested style of play and inexperience managing a squad playing in all the competitions is now fully exposed. This Christmas and New year Newcastle fans are not going to enjoy the football because it's going to get much worse... the rot has set in now.
What would you have done differently to Howe over the past few months? I guess more importantly what do you think a more experienced manager would have done differently?
The past few months was too late, but that's not our responsibility anyway. The coming months will tell us what myself and others have already identified.
I've answered your question which is basically how I'd put out the fire once the fire has already started. I would take precautions to ensure the fire risks were minimised in the 1st place.
