http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16363810.stm Now it's official. He could even play against Dunfermline on Monday. Bit of gen: Played 95 times for Rosenberg, scoring 14 goals. Capped 23 times for Sweden, soring one goal. Normally employed as a RB but can play CB (apparently). Has two championship winning medals with Rosenberg.
Our squad is very strong , last Saturday I thought Cha was our best player , then I thought Matthews was close to being our best player in the old firm game , then we have Mark Wilson coming back from injury , going to be interesting to see who gets the right back slot , or has Lennon got a new system in mind ??
4 into 1 obviously doesn't go. I wouldn't be surprised if Lennon tries to move Cha on in January and Wilson on in the summer. We have four RB's and only one natural LB, although Ledley and Mulgrew can slot in there if necessary. Lustig is a bit like Izzy in that he's better going forward but has the pace to get back and get a tackle in when necessary. I really can't see him playing at CB.
Seemingly premiership clubs are looking at Matthews to you take 4/5 million and say thank you very much , we got him for nothing 6 months ago ?? As we have plenty of competition for his place and spend the money on a striker ,the best thing about our club is the average age the other night it was 22
Sorry Harry, I don't think for one moment Celtic will sell Matthews in this up coming transfer market. Good players are hard to come across and when you do get them, you hold on tight. Within a week you can go from having an abundance of cover for a position to a dearth with injuries and suspensions. For a start no one knows what Izzy will be like when he comes back. Both Matthews and the new boy can play left back. I also, would not be surprised to see Lennon trying out a back 3. He seems to have Lustig for the right Mulgrew for the left and a number of options for the centre of three. May give Neil the option should he want to try it. God, I have liked Matthews from the start of the season but on Wednesday he was perhaps at his best.
