Hi Rangers fans, just wanted to gather your thoughts on this guy. Perhaps slipped under the radar in light of other players good/poor performances but I always thought at the time and still do that Luke Young would be an excellent signing for any team. He hasn't played much football so even at the age of 32 still looks fresh.

I've followed him since his Sp*rs days and Charlton even moreso and always thought he was a solid right back that can get forward but also defend well. I'd certainly have him over Bosingwa any day of the week.

How do you think he has performed thus far and how would you rate him in comparison to other signings?

I think he is one of our successes and really rate him. Will still be on the team sheet whoever we buy defensively in January.

Very solid right back, probably the pick of our signings so far.

I'd say our joint best signing with Traore. None remember how much we picked him up for?

He's been superb. On of the top 6 right-backs in the league imo but I've no doubt plenty of our fans will say he's ****, doesn't score enough, isn't tall enough etc. because they're, frankly, deluded.

I agree he's better than Bosingwa.

The first real right back we have had for many years, not sure about Traore yet, hes still young but makes errors at vital moments.

Love his attitude and agree he is the pick do far . Traore has fitted in well
    Like SWP and Ferninand
Bothroyd also looks decent in spells
    Gabbidon looking good also
    They are all fitting
I don't rate Barton or DJ Campbell as players whatsoever I never will
Barton has never had the quality never and DJ although happy of course has hidden ...
As a club we have loss a little shine and we must get it back ASAP

Thanks for all the feedback guys, I think it's unanimously agreed Luke Young has been a success thus far.

Dave Thomas I know you aren't a fan of Barton but I'm suprised you don't like DJ Campbell, is there a reason for this? Hammersmith Born and Bred

Luke Young is by far our best signing to date. Great player defending and going forward.

Been happy enough with Gabbidon and Ferdinand too.

I'd like to see us get a left back and play Traore as the winger he obviously is. He's the only R who can consistently cross a ball (apart from Taarabt when he's in the mood).

Like to see SWP played in position on the right - and Joey B get more of a grip.

We need an attacking central midfielder with goal scoring ability - and to revert to one anchor (holding mid), either Barton, Derry or Faulin. Two or three keeps us playing too deep and puts unnecessary pressure on the defence.
