Jose looking more and more stupid for his judgement every week. This kid was more than ready this year, and a blazingly bad decision by the Happy One not to include him in the squad. He makes Eto'o look like a total twat. Has Jose lost the plot ???? Well maybe not, but he is not the Jose of old. Too narrow minded, too stubborn, too rigid in his methods. He hasn't moved on at all since he left, just continued his boring, expensive method of getting success. I hoped he would be relaxed, creative, expansive, clever. Not a sign of any of that, just, Lamps, Terry, Cech, Cole, no youngsters, players out of position, bad selections. Come on Jose, lift your game.
Am I too critical?? Maybe, but I am very underwhelmed by our play.

Cech and Cole are still by far the best two players we have for their respective positions, so picking them is a no brainer, cant criticise him for that.
Terry, well, he is getting on a bit but I still dont trust Cahill and Luiz partnership.
Lampard.....well.....he is still putting them away like no ones business, as long as he plays on every other week and doesnt start against the bigger clubs then its fine. When we need someone to grab a couple of goals against smaller clubs like West Ham and kill the game off, their is still hardly a midfielder better in Europe, let alone the PL. He hasnt got the legs or pace any more but his passing and shooting ability is up there with the best.

I WILL concede however, that he should be giving the youngsters more of a shot. I was the first to complain when Lukaku went back out on loan. The guy is not going to get any more ready with another loan spell ffs, he is already putting away more than ALL our other strikers combined (and did so last season as well) so it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

No disagreeing with you but confused by your statement.

Jose is 'not the Jose of old' but also 'hasn't moved on at all since he left...continued his boring, expensive method of getting success'

Problem was , with Torres coming to look like a £50m player at last and Lukaku on fire , he couldn't be left on the bench! I reckon he would have been wiser to send him on loan , with the option to bring him back in January! Still-whatever happens we've now got a very valuable player on our books whether he stays or goes... and he's not allowed to play against us this season either!

Agree with this. Azpi has looked like he has played left back all his life how well he is playing there.

Do people not understand there is far more pressure in playing for Chelsea than there is for Everton? He needed a season at a higher standard out on loan at a club who will give him game time, he wouldn't get that even if we didn't buy Eto'o. Stop complaining ffs, we're doing fine, why are people expecting Jose to perform miracles straight away?

Isn't Lukaku doing exactly what he and we want him to? I don't want him out on loan a flopping. This is his big chance to impress in England and keep his World Cup place. Behind Torres and Ba and Eto'o he didn't have any opportunity. Now he is over the next to last hurdle. What he needs now is the level of consistency he showed abroad at our level of league play and he'll be our main striker.............unless we don't reassure him all the time, because for all that the plan is working other clubs have noticed the plan is working.

I would say a season. We don't have the squad we did when he first took over, and he's quite clearly trying to get them playing a different style compared to what they've been used to. Lukaku will be back next season and have plenty of experience in the PL to offer at the same time, whenever I saw him for Chelsea he looked awful and we're not exactly a team who relies on it's strikers anyway.

One thing that's for sure, being at Everton he is helping us, cost Liverpool 2 points with his goals.

I meant in a personal way, he was funny, effusive, relaxed took all the flak aimed at his players. Now he seems tense, feisty, openly critical of players. I think his inner drive and competitiveness is causing the problem. He hates to lose, yet a year of modest results and great restructuring would be more than sufficient reward for most supporters. He doesn't have to do it all in one year.

I don't think we are Drogs, in fact just the opposite. It's Jose who's in a hurry.

Well maybe you should give Jose some time before casting judgement. You seem to be in an awful hurry to judge Jose, since matchday 3 if I recall correctly

    This. <ok>
I never expected us to win the title in Joses first season back. I expected to challenge and a top 2/3 finish. The title would be awesome, but Citys squad looks too good right now, and Arsenal seem to be having a resurgence, whether that will last or not remains to be seen.

CP is 100% correct. He seems to show the pressure far more now than he did before. I know there is a lot more expectation on him now than the first time he came here but still, he was usually cool as a cucumber about pressure. Now he seems to be angry all the time, what has Spain done to him :)

That's because we pissed the league in his first season and only lost one game or so, ... so of course he was more relaxed. Like anyone is when their job is going well

That's because I can't see a single sign that anything or anyone is better for him returning.

That and he had the best squad in England, arguably in Europe, with all the money he wanted and no real expectations.

It's a much tougher situation for him this time around, with the expectations of success, less of a financial advantage and a squad that's nowhere near the one he got in 2004. So the pressure is always likely to be higher.

    Can't disagree more!!

Anything less than title is a failure for me - with Jose at the helm!!
For eff sakes he is Jose, and even red nose is no match to him!!

I am pissed, because he is letting Manchester teams into the frame needlessly!!

    Can't agree at all.

Title would be great and is attainable but there are 3-4 teams at least who have a fair shout and that's not including some outside bets like Liverpool who have started well.

We have the best manager but he's taken on a team that hasn't seriously challenged for the title in 3 years. You can't just expect him to take over and win it straight off. United walked the league last year, City have a great squad etc the competition is fierce. Basically to win the title you normally have to finish in the top 2 the previous year. We aint been in the top 2 since 2011.
