They do many things well especially their youth set up, and in an ideal world they should be more successful than they are, BUT with the Premier league as it is their best talent will always end up elsewhere.
Well he didn't demand to leave did he? Southampton offered a lot and the club wanted to sell. Jelavic is worse at finishing and can't pass as well.
1. We were never comparing Jelavic and Long so that point is irrelevant. 2. They apparently made an offer because they got wind of him and his family being unsettled in the area. It is very strange for a club to move on someone so soon after them signing for another club. Not unheard of but strange. 3. Plenty of top quality world strikers who can't pass. 4. Long and Jelavic both scored 4 league goals for us. 5. Long has scored 69 career goals and Jelavic has scored 88 career goals and they are around the same age.
I honestly think Jelavic gets in better scoring positions, and will score plenty with Ince / Snodgrass / Brady / Elmo supplying him. Can also use his strength to hold off defenders for the faster players.
Just saw this on Twatter, what a ****!! "Absolute joke that SL has been allowed to leave the club even for a big profit. Thought our days of having to sell players were over?!" He came, he's gone. Thank you, goodbye. We move on.
Jelavic and Ince offer a better solution for this weekend. Ince for one is just ask quick as Long. We shall then have a fresh Sagbo and Aluko to start @ Lokeren. Shane has gone. Long gone. We Move on.
