Nothing unusual there, they always seem to have some work being done at weekends. Last time I went to Loftus Road my station at Norwood Junction was trainless, I only realised when I was on the platform!...
Get out at Clapham Junction and jump on the 295 to the Bush. Alternatively get off at Wimbledon, district line to Edgware Road. Change at Notting Hill Gate to the Central Line w/b and get off at Shepherds Bush or White City. There's not much difference in travel time.
