I’m seeing lots of discussion here re loaning players out and Bielsa being reluctant to do so and I see why. Most clubs are relatively similar in terms of tactics and training so it makes sense to let a player move out to gain valuable game time. Not so simple for us. All levels are coached in the Bielsa philosophy at all levels. So where for example, would be the advantage of loaning a player to Gary Monk or Hull or whatever for 12 months? You would actually damage the players prospects long term. Also it’s obvious many players are not able for the rigours of Bielsas regime, eg big Kev, but surely only way to find out is by having them immersed in it daily rather than jogging around with some bang average lower league coach

WJ posted an article last night on Bogusz who says he is getting a new contract and going out on loan? He himself says he hasnt done what he expected to do this season. I agree with everything you wrote Eire and I wonder if Bielsa is making an exception with Bogusz because he is a bit special but maybe just needs a bit of confidence.

Cibicki, Grot, LDB loaned out because they had long contracts but no chance of playing so loaned out. Bogusz is out of contract so why give him a new one unless they want to showcase him and sell him for large profit

We will soon see how the club deal with Rapha Mujica who was useless back in Spain until Orta swapped his loan club in January when he was scoring for fun for Villarreal B before the lockdown?

Its possible if its thought out properly.

Just off the top of my head, I wouldn't mind Bogusz going out on loan to Huddersfield or Barnsley for example. Both teams (I presume Corberan will) play high intensity pressure football. It might not be exactly Bielsaball but it's similar.

Theres no point sending him to Derby who are just pedestrian and ****e. He's not gonna learn anything. If it's done cleverly it's not a problem.

Now let's also throw in the fact that due to our academy now promoted to category 1 status they will play against a better quality opponent. They also qualify for the football league trophy so they will get some game time vs full blown mens football.

I presume we will be signing quote a few 'future prospects' this summer to strengthen that area.

Barnsley really impressed me. If they keep the same coach I’d have no problem loaning them a couple of our fringe team players. I guess you loan players to the teams who play at least a similar style

Ideally yes. Then two months into new season Barnsley sack manager and replace him with warnock

thats a really good shout Rich and also Emu has a great point regarding Corberan and Hudders. Maybe Edmondson who scores for fun in the 23s under Corberan and Bogusz who looks like a man in a boys body and plays sublime attacking direct football most of the time can benefit

Will be interesting to see if Corberan cuts it as head coach.

    I think he probably will.
The only good point I can extract from him leaving is that to me it makes it more likely Bielsa is going to sign on for a bit longer otherwise he would have been a good replacement or at least a temporary coach, considering we have only 7 weeks until the new season starts

As WJ(?) said, he can make a name for himself with the Woofters and then come back to take over from Bielsa in a few years. <ok>
