January 15th is becoming an important date for John Sheridan.

That is the date for Bobby Reid, Anthony O'Connor and Andy Kellett to complete their present loan agreements with Argyle.

All three have been successful loanees for PAFC and Sheridan I'm sure would like to retain them all until the end of the season.

It seems that Bobby Reid will talk to his boss Steve Cotterill (Bristol C ) for advice on his future......Sheridan and Cotterill seem to have come to an agreement over Bobby continuing at Argyle....it will be down to the player to make the final decision.....lets hope he decides to stay.....he is guaranteed first team football at Home Park.

Regarding the other two......Anthony O'Connor on loan from Blackburn and Andy Kellett on loan from Bolton.....Sheridan has been sounding out the possibilities of them staying longer.......both can be assured that they will get regular first team football if they stay at Plymouth.......surely both players would prefer that than warming a subs bench now and again back at their original clubs.

Down to you Mr Sheridan to convince these two players and their Managers that time at Plymouth will further their careers and give them playing time and therefore more experience.

John Sheridan has also stated that he is searching for another striker and has made a couple of inquiries already......we do need an alternative to the present two..... Reid and Alessandra when a change must be tried.

We need all we can get, especially another striker God forbid we get serious injuries. JS has done great so far on loanees so probably has something up his sleeve hopefully besides his watch.

Did you read about Gypsy Acora's article in the Herald that Argyle have been jinxed and no hope of promotion but he can put matters right! He's still going after all these years. Remember he had his place on the Barbican I believe.

That's jumping on an old story by him regarding the jinxing thing. There are various stories about the where and why of that rumour. If it were true in any way then we would never have been out of the bottom league so think the history says it all. Don't think he has a place down there these days although you are right he at least once did.

I think as far as the current batch of loanees is concerned all of them look as if they might be here for the season. Hope so because they have all been good for us. If Sheridan is looking for a striker then he should be looking to get rid of Morgan and possibly Banton. Can't get rid of Smalley as he is out for the season and nobody is going to take on a non player. By coming out with that statement Sheridan is saying he doesn't want either of them and they should be looking elsewhere. It's a bit worrying if our depth of squad is that thin.

Not sure about the 24 hour recall bit. Given the amount of time he has already been with us I thought that the only way the only way the loan could be extended would be to class it as a 'long term loan' i.e until the end of the season. In these circumstances I didn't think a recall clause could be included ......... . Might explain why although both clubs seem to have agreed the deal it hasn't been officially announced?

I thought all loans from January onwards were for the duration and there are no recalls but then again I never quite get these loan deals. If he is staying even with a clause then good news.

It seems that Bobby Reid can stay under a standed loan agreement for the rest of the season.........and only be recalled during the transfer window period.

Quite a few report that the deal is done......although the Herald say that talks are still on going......they do seem to be the mouthpiece of James Brent.......or so we're told by some quarters.....................o_O

Quite a lot on the old grapevine that says Bobby isn't going to sign up for the rest of the season or at all now. Not sure exactly where all that is coming from but these sorts of rumours often have more than a whisper to them. I hope it's not true but would just about sum up our last month wouldn't it.

Pretty certain there will be an announcement (one way or another) on Thursday. I seem to think that Wednesday is normally the players day off which might explain the lack of anything today. Have read lots of the stuff on other sites and I tend to favor the view that we may have made an offer for a permanent deal, or indeed someone else has. From what their manager has said, I really cant see a future for him at Bristol City especially given that they will almost certainly be a championship team next season. Really I haven't a clue what is going on, it may even be the case that he is being touted around the other clubs (Exeter now has money!) so he may wait until nearer the end of the window before deciding where his future lies.

'one, possibly two new faces in Saturday's team' according to the club's twitter feed.......looks like the defender here by Saturday.

Reid back at Bristol as cover due to Chelsea recalling one of their loanees - still a chance he will be back by the end of Jan.

I hope the Bobby Reid thing is that simple lyndhurst. I'm never a fan of somebody joining on a Friday and playing on the Saturday personally. Give them a week to settle in and do a bit of training with the others or it's unfair to judge them.

Tom Flanagan a 23yr old, 6ft 4in defender from MK Dons has been signed until Feb 10th as cover for the injured Peter Hartley who had a recurrence of his thigh injury and is expected to be out for at least three weeks.

Bobby Reid has gone back to Bristol City because of Chelsea re-calling Todd Kane.....the situation will be reviewed by City at the end of the month.....so Reid might be back then.

Regarding Kellett and O'Connor who are not available after the 15th Jan.....Sheridan says that there situations are in limbo at present.

Could be good thou, 6'4" and a young kid (Ireland U21). Good cover for the injured Hartley and will allow O'conner to move back to midfield for the next couple of matches.

Always willing to give the benefit and have to say I trust Sheridan with loanees because most of them have been pretty reasonable. Not so sure about tomorrow being a true test as Southend will be no pushover home or away. Baptism of fire so to speak so if Argyle get anything tomorrow I will be happy.

Beginning to get a bit nervous regarding any return of our current loanee crop. Still not sure about Bobby Reid coming back and possibly O'Connor also. They both played in U21 matches today for their parent clubs. I keep seeing all of these reports about this club and that one signing players or re-signing players but very little movement on our own board. It always seems to be like that for some reason and we seldom hit the ground running. I want to see 4 things happen and soon. Re-sign Reid, O'Connor and Kellett and a new real prospect forward appearing. It shows that if R.Reid dries up in the goals department then we struggle to get any so we need an option 2. Come on Argyle make my day....
