Yes a good move, I still think he is our best bet for the future, and the difference between a goalkeeper
and an outfielder when loaned out is the quality of the team, but the most important is he is getting
match practice as against bench warming.

Ah, thanks Bidley - wondered why he wasn't in the U21 line-up. I'm a big fan of Jack and while another spell of League footy won't do him any real harm, I'm a tad concerned about where he's going at Fulham. Given that he's succesfully captained our U18 and U21 sides and performed well in his loan spell last year at Port Vale, he seems to have gone backwards since being overlooked by Felix.

I hope that another loan spell will rekindle the talent this lad has, since Felix somehow demoralised him
    confidence wise

Not a bad weekend at all for the lads out on loan. Here's a full round-up:

"Jack Grimmer enjoyed a dream debut for Shrewsbury Town on Saturday, helping his new loan side to a clean sheet in addition to winning the free-kick from which they scored the only goal of the game.

The Shrews were away to York City and had to wait until the 87th minute to make the breakthrough. Grimmer was fouled outside the area and following the free-kick, James Collins guided Jordan Clark’s strike into the net.

The win moved them into the Sky Bet League Two Play-Off places, and manager Micky Mellon was pleased with how Grimmer fared, telling the press after the game: “Jack’s a player we’ve known about for a long time, and we know all about his qualities. We’ve always known that if there was any chance of him being available, we’d be interested. I think anyone who came here would realise what a fine young footballer he is. He gave us that wee bit more quality in the areas we like to play and he did fantastic.”

Elsewhere in the division, Jesse Joronen made his first appearance for Accrington Stanley as they went down 2-1 away to Stevenage Borough. The goalkeeper was beaten as early as the first minute when Chris Whelpdale tapped in, although Lee Molyneux equalised with a low strike. Charlie Lee restored the lead for Stevenage shortly after the interval and that’s the way it stayed.

Up in League One, Ryan Williams played 75 minutes of Barnsley’s 2-1 defeat at Peterborough United. The visitors went ahead when fellow loanee Devante Cole volleyed in, but Connor Washington equalised on the stroke of half-time.
Marcus Maddison won it for Posh with a free-kick midway through the second half before Josh Bailey saw red for the Tykes who remain 13th in the table.

Ryan Tunnicliffe came on for the final seven minutes as Blackburn Rovers snatched a late 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town at Portman Road in the Championship.
Having gone behind to David McGoldrick’s 65th minute opener, Rovers earned a point through Ben Marshall’s excellent free-kick in stoppage time, but the result still saw them slip a position to 13th in the league.

In Denmark, a man of the match display from Alexander Kačaniklić saw FC Copenhagen triumph 1-0 over Randers Freja.

The winger’s penalty on 35 minutes proved the difference between the sides, with the win moving the men from the capital level on points with their opponents in the Superliga.

Finally, in Greece, Kostas Mitroglou scored twice to help Olympiakos to a hard-earned 3-2 win at Ergotelis.

The hosts went in front on 43 minutes through Mohamed Youssouf, before the on-loan Fulham striker levelled things up just before the break. Angelos Chanti restored Ergotelis’ advantage 10 minutes after the restart, but a Alejandro Dominguez penalty and a 90th minute Mitroglou effort saw Olympiakos claim the victory."

Anyone else dread looking at the Olympiakos score, as you just know the scorer will be Kasami or Mitroglou?

Kasami putting them ahead of Juventus tonight from a Mitroglou assist.

Pajtim obviously enjoys October for goals - it's exactly one year since that one against Palace.

Only surprise id that this hasn't happened before -

"Caretaker boss Kit Symons has given the Italy under-21 international Marcello Trotta, who has not featured for the west London club this term, the green light to play first-team football elsewhere.

The 22-year-old joined the Whites in 2009 but has spent most of his time out on loan at clubs including Wycombe Wanderers and Brentford. And now Symons has revealed Trotta is free to make a temporary switch elsewhere and gain more experience in English football"

Guessing of course but probably trying to get him a month's loan which, if all goes well, would set him up for a sale in the january window.

The weekend round-up from the Club:

“Ryan Tunnicliffe played the full 90 minutes as Blackburn Rovers secured a 3-1 away win at Nottingham Forest in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday. Matty Fryatt put Forest ahead after Britt Assombalonga's effort hit the post and kindly fell to him. But Rovers hit back to score three times in 11 second-half minutes through Alex Baptiste, Rudy Gestede and Jordan Rhodes condemned Forest to a first home defeat of the season.

In League One, Ryan Williams was again named in Barnsley’s starting XI as the Tykes drew 2-2 at home to Bristol City. Luke Ayling headed Joe Bryan's delivery back across goal and past Ross Turnbull to put City ahead. Sam Winnall then equalised with a curling effort and Conor Hourihane's penalty, after he was fouled by Ayling, turned the game on its head. But Aaron Wilbraham's rasping shot rescued a point for City to preserve the leaders' unbeaten record. Williams was substituted with six minutes remaining.

In League Two, Jack Grimmer and Shrewsbury Town secured a fourth consecutive victory as they came from behind to beat Portsmouth 2-1. Pompey took an early lead through Jed Wallace's penalty, but the hosts pulled level in the 13th minute when James Wesolowski drilled home. Captain Connor Goldson scored the winner in style when his 30-yard effort flew into the top corner.

In the same division, Jesse Joronen was beaten by a stunning Joe Piggott effort as Accrington Stanley drew 1-1 away at Newport County. Stanley took the lead through Sean Maguire's deflected shot but on-loan Charlton Athletic striker Piggott's curling effort from 30 yards ensured the spoils were shared.

In Denmark on Sunday, Alexander Kačaniklić played as FC Copenhagen drew 1-1 away to Club Brugge.

And in Greece, Kostas Mitroglou had a penalty saved but Olympiakos defeated Athens rivals Panathinaikos 1-0.”

So many things wrong with this sentence. Club Brugge are Belgian, they drew 2-2 at home to Gent at the weekend. Copenhagen won 2-0 away to Hobro on Sunday and Kacaniklic didn't feature.

On the ball as ever FI.

Think I'll pass on taking up the discrepancies with our erstwhile Communications Director, Sarah Brookes, however - she's no doubt got her hands full right now preparing Mr Khan's statement endorsing Kit as Manager.

I see where the mistake came from now. Copenhagen drew 1-1 away to Brugge on Thursday in the Europa League. Not as big an error as I initially thought.

Should do well there, Ryan Williams also extended his stay there until December 2nd and Stephen Arthurworrey has joined Yeovil until the end of January. All good moves I think. Hopefully Arthurworrey can follow in the developmental footsteps of Dan Burn.

Anyone have an update on Jesse Joronen? I heard he was stretchered off last night. Hope he's okay!

He said on Twitter that he'll find out more at the start of next week so the extent of the injury is unknown for now. Hopefully it's nothing too bad.

The weekend round-up from the Club:

” Accrington Stanley’s 2-1 victory over Morecombe on Friday night was tainted by an injury suffered by on-loan Fulham goalkeeper Jesse Joronen.

Goals from Luke Joyce and Shay McCartan had put Stanley two goals up in the opening stages, before Joronen was stretchered from the field of play after suffering an injury as he tipped over Alex Kenyon’s effort in the second half. From the resultant corner, Paul Mullin reduced the deficit but Stanley held on to temporarily move up to ninth in the Sky Bet League Two table.

After the game, Joronen tweeted: “Thanks for kind messages. Will find out more start of next week.”

The following day, Jack Grimmer played 90 minutes as Shrewsbury Town secured a fifth successive victory in League Two as they defeat Dagenham & Redbridge 2-1 away from home. An early Billy Bingham strike put the Daggers ahead, but Andy Mangan equalised on 70 minutes before winning a penalty deep into stoppage time which Liam Lawrence duly converted.

In League One, Stephen Arthurworrey helped Yeovil Town to a clean sheet on his debut as they drew 0-0 at Chesterfield. The imposing centre-back, who played 90 minutes, also went close to breaking the deadlock early in the second half, but his header was palmed away by Chesterfield goalkeeper Tommy Lee.

Elsewhere in the division, Ryan Williams played the entirety of Barnsley’s 1-0 win at Sheffield United. Sam Winnall’s second half header proved the difference between the sides as the Tykes – for whom Marcello Trotta was an unused substitute – secured a first league win in four attempts.

Up in the Championship, Ryan Tunnicliffe came on as a half-time substitute as Blackburn Rovers made it three wins in a row with a 3-1 triumph over Reading at Ewood Park. The sides went into the break level after Glenn Murray had cancelled out Rudy Gestede’s opener, but an excellent Ben Marshall free-kick and another Gestede goal saw Rovers move to within four points of table-toppers Watford.

Olympiakos could only manage a goalless draw away to 10-man Asteras in the Greek Super League, with Kostas Mitroglou featuring for the full 90. Pablo Mazza was sent off for two yellow cards in the first half for Asteras, but they defending resolutely and managed to survive the Olympiakos pressure to nab a point.

In Denmark on Sunday, Alexander Kačaniklić featured for 68 minutes of FC Copenhagen’s 1-1 draw at home to SonderjyskE. They had gone ahead through Nicolai Jorgensen’s effort late on in the first half, but SonderjyskE left with a point courtesy of Niels Lodberg’s 81st minute goal.”

The from the Club on Tuesday night‘s games:

”Ryan Tunnicliffe played the full 90 minutes on Tuesday night as Blackburn Rovers squandered a two-goal lead to draw at Millwall. Shane Duffy had given Rovers a half-time lead at the Den, and the visitors’ chances were further boosted when Lions defender Andy Wilkinson was shown a straight red card on the hour mark for a lunge on Ben Marshall.

Blackburn’s top scorer Rudy Gestede then doubled their lead shortly after with a header, although Lee Martin’s 72nd minute effort kept the Londoners in contention, before Shaun Williams struck an equaliser in the closing stages.
Tunnicliffe saw an effort blocked in stoppage time, while Gestede also missed a pair of openings, as Blackburn missed the chance to move into the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off places.

In the UEFA Champions League, Olympiakos went down 3-2 to Juventus in Turin, with Kostas Mitroglou playing the full match.

Andrea Pirlo had opened the scoring midway through the first half with a stunning free-kick, but the Greek side were level moments later through Alberto Botia’s stooping header. Another header from Olympiakos’ Delvin N’Dinga then turned the game on its head, but two strikes in quick succession earned victory for the Old Lady.

The first was extremely fortunate as Fernando Llorente’s effort went in via visiting goalkeeper Roberto, but there was nothing lucky about Paul Pogba’s winner as the Frenchman emphatically lashed home from the edge of the box. Roberto later saved an Arturo Vidal penalty in stoppage time, but it did not affect the result, with both sides now sitting on six points in Group A, with two games left to play.”
