Lloris wasn't registered in time for the Norwich game - hence Cudicini was on the bench - and hadn't trained with the team, and (as Spurcat says) he flew back to say his farewells to his Lyon teammates rather than train with the squad, so if he's had a handful of training sessions with the squad I'd be surprised, especially given he joined up with the France squad a few days after we signed him.

We're more likely going to slowly introduce him to the team via the Europa League/COC, and he;ll be first-choice come FA Cup time.

Sorry Spurf but what you are saying is utter rubbish, AVB shouldn't have said anything about Lloris' situation, and yes AVB has behaved consistently, he's messed things up again.

Exactly, AVB is doing a poor job ATM, and is making life difficult at Spurs.

Well i sincerely hope this isn't the case, he should be first choice either by Reading or the game after. What a way to treat the French captain and the most highly rated player to join us this summer.

Fair enough if Brad starts putting on miracle shows and keeping clean sheet after clean sheet, but I can't see that happening.

i agree Lloris should become our number 1, but you can't just go throwing him into the side willy-nilly regardless of whether he's french captain (i'm not sure what relevance that has, being french captain does not make you better than everyone).
He should go in when he's ready.
AVB's comment is basically saying "everyone has to fight for their spot". Surely a good thing? If Lloris is unwilling to fight for a place in the team then frankly he can bugger off back to france for all i care.
If Brad keeps Hugo out then so be it. Brad earned us a point in the last match and should be retained for at least 1 game and possibly more because of that. Lloris needs to prove in training that he is ready and a better choice than Brad in THIS league and in THIS team

As I said before, Adebayor didn't go straight in to the starting 11 under AVB, neither did Dembele, neither did Vertonghen and Sigurdsson was benched for the second match. If Lloris arrived on the understanding that he's doing us a favour then he's mistaken, he can fight for his place like everyone else in the squad does.

It remains to be seen whether any of this is true, althoug ESPN don't usually report quotes if they're not from the player.

I agree with Spurm, places in the 1st team should be on merit, not as some posters are saying because he cost a lot and is captain of his national team.
Brad hasn't done anything to warrant being dropped, although I suspect that when he loses his place he will do so with grace and class, but until then...

Oi, if you want to start on one of our mods, there is a pm procedure, i don't want it on my thread. Also, prove 'he was told he was 1st choice', if you can't, fuk off back to Brenda's bullshit on your board.

Didn't you embarrass yourself enough on the ffp thread?

Fair enough, you seem to have been present throughout our negotiations with Lloris but that "old fart" has started the season well and will not be dropped just because someone else is currently considered a bigger name.

It does make you wonder though why Spurs have now got four keepers, who other than perhaps Cudicini, would probably all consider themselves to be first choice. Especially when other areas in the squad need strengthening.

Unfortunately unless you are privy to the exact conversations Levy had with these parties, then damning they are not. I refer you to your own choice of words that are not stating facts rather opinion. As for the AVB to Spurs thing I honestly can't remember or be bothered to check that out but one instance does not make a rule

Didn't you guys have something similare last season, or was Mannone loaned out?

I think Gomes was available all summer but got injured which made it more difficult to shift him. Currently we're in a situation where all 3 of the keepers we had last season could be gone due to their age and contracts so whilst 4 seems a lot it makes more sense to bring in 1 who can be here next season than needing 3 new keepers next summer.

I think that AVB was prevented from agreeing terms with a new club before 1 July by his leaving settlement with Chelsea. So when he was asked prior to then if he was in talks with Spurs he answererd very honestly that he was not.

Considering our 3 keepers have a combined age of 111, it could only be a wonder to you for us to want a younger one. The fact a decent one has come up before moving on or retirement for one of the others is unfortunate, but you can't hang about waiting for everything to be ideal.

I agree that is why RVP left us, because of broken promises Spurs made to him :(

As for Lioris he signed a 4 year contract not a 4 week contract <ok>

Whenever certain Arsenal fans side with you then as a Spurs fan you must question your own opinions..try it it works for those Spurs fans that have managed to twist this article into another AVB witch hunt as oppose to what Notso intended in the OP which was something along the lines of 'shutup Lioris and sort it out behind closed doors' if what is being reported is true.

My point being that you should be bothered about your own club and it's false promises instead of latching onto what the papers say about Spurs because it suits your agenda...are you feeling ok bothered about us when your club is nothing but Manchester's bitch and RVP stated that your club broke promises...the stick your trying to beat Spurs with?

Of course he hasn't played for us.
