http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896...ham?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed "I imagined a club of a higher standing for Hugo Lloris,â Lizarazu told RTL. âFor me, Tottenham is not more powerful than Lyon. The experience in England is necessary, but I thought he would go to a top European club. For me, Tottenham is not a top European club." Can't disagree with that. The French Captain moving to Spurs from a big club like Lyon is a bizarre move but I think Lloris will be a success in the PL. Can see United going in for him if De Gea doesn't work out, or even Liverpool as a long time Reina replacement.
Lyon won the league seven years in a row and reached knockout stages of EC several years in a row. They are a big European club
Now LLoris has realised his mistake: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/sep/04/hugo-lloris-villas-boas-deschamps
So, let's examine the evidence, shall we? We have a former French international wishing that France's top goalkeeper had joined a French club, and Lloris, himself, bemoaning the fact that he hasn't swanned into the Spurs starting XI. Not really the stuff of legend, is it?
And poor old Lloris, being paid handsomely and being told that he has to earn his place in the team. How dare a manager tell a professional footballer that he has to earn his place in the team! Next thing, the press will be expecting managers to demand that players put in a full shift on match-day. Where will it all end?
Spurs needed a top keeper, they wanted him, they had the money, and like true professional player he didn't care about what team just show me the money.
I think we learned something about how the yids work with the Croatian mercenary, just halve whatever Levy asks for.
Lloris isn't a happy bunny apparently! http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/sep/04/hugo-lloris-villas-boas-deschamps
